The Ford Bronco Hybrid and Bronco SportHybrid are expected to debut in 2024 as part of Ford’s plan to offer electric versions of their most popular vehicles. Ford has hinted at plans to develop a full EV version of the Bronco, but no official word has been given on when that will happen.
It’s clear that Ford wants to keep up with SUV giants like Jeep and Land Rover who have already rolled out their own PHEVs. For now, the world will have to wait for the unveiling of the Ford Bronco EV and the Bronco PHEV—plus a BEV (battery electric vehicle)-focused architecture that would extend to their SUV platform.

2022 Ford Bronco EV pricing information

Due to the release date of the Ford Bronco EV being years off, there is no current pricing information available
The gasoline-powered 2022 Bronco has a starting MSRP of $30,410. With whispers of a PHEV version set to launch in the next year or two, experts predict that a plug-in hybrid powertrain will increase the base cost of the Ford Bronco by a few thousand dollars
If you can’t stand to wait for the indeterminate release date of the Ford Bronco EV and budget is a non-issue, you could consider exploring Gateway Electric Ford Broncos. This unique restoration project, known as a “restomod,” restores and modifies classic Broncos, morphing them into full EVs that look very cool. Prices range from $150,000 to $300,000

Is a Ford Bronco EV worth it?

It might be, but at this point, it’s impossible to say. If you have your sights set on a Ford EV and are willing to branch out from the Bronco, here are the EVs currently offered by Ford
  • Mustang Mach-EⓇ
  • Ford F-150Ⓡ Lightning™
  • E-Transit™ (if you’re about the van life)
The Bronco is a body-on-frame truck-like SUV that would likely make an excellent candidate for an EV. It became part of Ford’s repertoire way back in 1966 and was produced until 1996—a lineage that spanned five generations
After a lengthy hiatus, it reemerged into Ford’s lineup in 2021 and the sixth generation of the Bronco was born. It’s sporty, futuristic looking, and has the chops to go off-road, but you’ll have to stick with the fully gasoline-powered version for now.

What is the horsepower of a Ford Bronco EV?

We'll have to wait and see.
As for the upcoming PHEV Bronco, speculation suggests that it could come with a 35kW motor and a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It’s rumored that this combination will have 350 horsepower or more

What is the range of the Ford Bronco EV?

This also falls under speculation, but experts predict that the PHEV Ford Bronco could offer drivers about 40 miles of pure electric range
The gas-powered Bronco is a mighty machine which means that its current mpg stats are so-so at 20/city and 21/highway. Seeing as the Jeep Wrangler 4xe is currently the bestselling PHEV in the States, giving the new Bronco a PHEV configuration could give the Wrangler 4xe a run for its money—which is exactly what Ford wants.

Is the Ford Bronco EV reliable?

This too is yet to be seen. But, since Bronco’s drastic redesign in 2021 has led to good sales, Ford has every reason to feel confident. If Ford sticks to what’s working and applies it to their Bronco EVs, they’ll have several best-sellers in their hands.
