With used models available for less than $25,000 the adorable little Fiat 500e is a great option for zipping around LA or Portland, OR, but its 84-mile range isn’t good for much more than that.
When you think “Fiat,” you think “small,” so the 500e’s size shouldn’t be too surprising. What is surprising, though, is that the 500e’s range is also tiny at just 84 miles. Equally tiny is the 500e’s sales market—the model was only sold in California and Oregon.

What is the cheapest Fiat 5002?

The Fiat 500e is only offered in one trim that features an 83-kilowatt electric motor good for 111-horsepower, 147 lb-ft of torque, and 84 miles of driving range. In addition, the 500e features:
  • Heated mirrors
  • Rear parking sensors and rearview camera
  • Automatic climate control
  • Cruise control
  • Heated front seats
  • Bluetooth
  • Navigation
  • Voice commands

Is a Fiat 500e worth it?

The first concern many have when purchasing an EV is the range, so when buyers ask “
what is the maximum Fiat 500e range
,” they’re often disappointed to hear that it’s only 84 miles. Compared with other available EVs, both today and in 2019, this is laughable at best. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it for some buyers.
So, is it worth it? If you’re looking for a small, affordable vehicle to get you around urban areas easily without having to pay to fill up at the pump, the Fiat 500e may be a good option for you. If you need to drive more than 84 miles a day regularly—which probably applies to most people—then other affordable EV options, like the Chevrolet Bolt or Nissan Leaf, may be better options.

What is the horsepower of a Fiat 500e?

With only 111 horses and 147 lb-ft of torque, the Fiat 500e isn’t likely to be winning any drag races anytime soon. Even with the constant torque that normally results in blistering accelerations for EVs, the Fiat 500e only manages 0-60 in an unimpressive 8.4 seconds—only 0.3 seconds slower than the gas-powered Fiat 500.

What is the range of the Fiat 500e?

In case you missed it, the Fiat 500e’s range is as short as the vehicle is small at only 84 miles.

Is the Fiat 500e reliable?

The 500e is Fiat’s first all-electric vehicle, so commenting on reliability only 3 to 4 years in is pretty tough. Add to this the fact that the model was only sold in the U.S. for one year, and things become even more complicated. That said, the 500e does have a respectable four-star Euro NCAP safety score. Here are some things to consider when it comes to the Fiat 500e’s reliability:
  • Fiats, overall, don’t have the strongest reputation for reliability. The 500, for example, earns only 3.5 out of 5 stars for reliability from RepairPal.
  • Electric cars are, in general, more reliable than gas-powered models. Reduced complexity and fewer moving parts make for a more simple and more reliable powertrain.
