In 2009, “Genesis” was just a name for a ho-hum Hyundai sedan, but it was destined for something greater: six years later, an entire brand was born from this fitting title.
And Genesis wasted no time proving itself worthy of its own moniker, releasing high-quality sedans (G70, G80, and G90) and crossover SUVs (GV60, GV70, and GV80) that catapulted the brand to airspace previously only enjoyed by the likes of Tesla and Mercedes-Benz.

What we can expect from the GV90
Now that Genesis has anchored itself firmly in the luxury market, it’s ready for a flagship SUV, says
MotorTrend
. Called GV90, this crossover may be Genesis’s first three-row SUV, and it’s likely to be all-electric. It’s also expected to be based on the E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) that supports all other Hyundai Motor Group offerings.MotorTrend also notes that the GV90 should be capable of 300 miles of range, and will gain full power rapidly (between 20 and 30 minutes) with a 250-kW charger.
We might expect this latest offering from Genesis in the summer of 2024, so there’s still plenty of time to save up for the estimated $75,000 sticker price. If what we’ve already seen from Genesis is any indication, the GV90 should be worth it.
