The 2024 GMC Sierra EV is a more affordable version of the car brands’ Hummer EV pickup truck that shares many of the same features. GMC unveiled some details about the 2024 Sierra EV, which will be made on the same assembly line as the Hummer, on Oct. 20, 2022. There will be only one trim—the Denali Edition 1—which will cost about $109,000.

notes, during the reveal a large emphasis was placed on the front grille and dynamic lighting of the GMC Sierra EV, which will illuminate the GMC logo the same way the Hummer logo is illuminated. Plus, there will be dramatic L shaped lights and dynamic turn signals. The electric pickup truck will be offered as a crew cab with a bed that’s 5 feet, 11 inches. Under the hood of the pickup truck, drivers will be pleased to find a two-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain that boasts 754 hp and a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds. Although

, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV gets 400 miles of range, so drivers won’t be required to charge it too frequently. GMC claims adding 100 miles of range should take about 10 minutes. How is it different from the Ford F-150 Lightning?
Evidently, the GMC Sierra EV is going to give the Ford F-150 Lightning a run for its money, but both electric vehicles have positives and negatives.
The Ford F-150 Lightning also has a two-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain, but horsepower is only 452, or 580 with extended range battery. Maximum driving range in the F-150 Lightning is only about 230 miles, which is almost half of the Sierra EV.
However, the F-150 Lightning has a quicker engine, with an acceleration time of four seconds from 0 to 60 mph. And, because the F-150 Lightning has a few years on the roads already, there’s
more options for drivers to choose from
with a total of six different trims in 2023. The Lightning is also more reasonably priced, with a range starting at just under $54,000 and increasing to just under $100,000.That means, while the GMC Sierra has great perks like a powerful engine and long range, the Ford F-150 Lightning is a more affordable and practical option for drivers. In the end, which is better for you comes down to your personal preference and what you value in an electric pickup truck.
