The newest electrified truck joining the fray is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado WT. It will only be available for fleets and will run in the ballpark of $39,000. The RST First Edition, which will be available for consumers, will cost around $105,000. Chevrolet plans to roll out more editions that are more moderately priced.
It’s no surprise that Chevrolet has announced its entry into the electric truck space. The Silverado EV is poised to compete with other electric trucks that have been introduced recently, and it should be able to hold its own based on its stellar reputation as a builder of rugged trucks.

2024 Silverado EV pricing information

The starting price for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV WT will be around $39,000, but this model will only be available for fleets.
The Chevrolet Silverado RST First Edition will be the first version available for the general public, and that price will start at around $105,000.
Chevrolet does plan to roll out other trim levels at a later date, but right now, those prices are not set in stone. However, we can give you some of the estimated prices, along with their corresponding trim levels.
Here is the estimate for the yet-to-be-announced trim levels:
  • LT: $50,000
  • LTZ: $75,000
  • Trail Boss: $85,000
  • High Country: $90,000
These numbers are all subject to change, but they should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect to shell out when they become available.
While you’re waiting, you can head on over to Chevrolet’s website and

What is the cheapest Silverado EV?

As of right now, the Silverado EV WT is slated to be the most affordable version with an MSRP of $39,000. This model will feature two electric motors that can get up to 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, with 8,000 pounds of towing capacity. Equipped with General Motors’ unique Utium battery technology, expect to get about 400 miles of range on a single charge.
It will also include:
  • 11-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • DC fast charge capability up to 35 kW
  • 18” steel wheels

Is a Silverado EV worth it?

It’s hard to say if the Silverado EV will be worth it since the truck is yet to hit the market, but we can make some assumptions based on other EV trucks that have been released.
Just like the Silverado EV, the
Ford F-150 Lightning
is available for fleets and starts at $39,974, which is on par with the expected price of the Silverado EV. The highest trim—Platinum—costs $90,874, which is right around the price we expect the Silverado EV’s highest trim level to cost when it does hit the market.
So we know the price range will be around the same, but will it be worth it? It’s too early to tell.
But based on Chevrolet’s track record, we think it’s fair to say you’re going to get a solid electric vehicle since Chevrolet has been at the forefront of electric vehicle production since introducing the
Chevrolet Volt
back in 2011. Couple that with the Ultium EV Platform and GM’s commitment to an all-electric future, and we think you’ll be happy with a Silverado EV purchase if you’ve come to love everything else Chevrolet rolls out.

What is the horsepower of a Silverado EV?

It all depends on the model you buy.
The Silverado EV WT, with its two electric motors, will be able to reach 510 horsepower. While not a lot, it’s a decent amount for an electric vehicle, along with 615 lb-ft of torque.
The Silverado EV RST First Edition also contains two motors, but it ups the ante by giving drivers 664 horsepower, along with 780 lb-ft of torque. Not too shabby.

What is the range of the Silverado EV?

Both of the Silverado EV models will contain a 24-module battery pack that will provide 400 miles of estimated range. The WT model will come standard with DC fast-charge capability of up to 35 kW, which will add up to 100 miles of range in just ten minutes.

Is the Silverado EV reliable?

It’s hard to say if it will be reliable since the truck isn’t actually in the driver's hands yet, but we can make educated guesses based on the brand’s reputation.
Two possible predicting factors:
  • The Chevrolet Silverado ranks high on reliability. It has a predicted reliability score of 83 out of 100 and J.D. Power gives it a reliability score of 91 out of 10, which is considered “best”.
  • Electric vehicles tend to be more reliable than gas-powered vehicles because there are fewer components that might wear out. But repair costs are steeper, so you have to weigh that, as well.
