Cadillac is unveiling its first all-electric vehicle, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq. It is also one of several EVs that General Motors is introducing to the market. The new model is praised for a new generation of battery technology, various outstanding features, and its dynamic styling.
Besides, Cadillac has maintained its signature styling and added a futuristic feel to the electric model, fueling optimism in EV lovers. In the comprehensive description below, Jerry explores what to expect with the electric model.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq motor power and performance

Car and Driver explains that the rear-wheel-drive option will come as standard, and the motor will be placed on the rear axle. However, car owners will have a chance to choose an all-wheel model that adds a second motor at the front. The rear-wheel-drive powertrain will provide 340 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive model will deliver 500 horsepower.
The vehicle uses a new EV battery technology called Ultium. It is a scalable technology that allows the automaker to create batteries that range from 50 kWh to 200 kWh based on their needs.
The Lyric will come with a 100-kWh battery with a driving range of 312 miles per full charge when using a single motor. The range will be a little shorter with the dual-motor setup.
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq also has a smooth ride thanks to the 5-link suspension system that allows independent tuning for the front and rear axles for superior and smoother rides.
In addition, it has on-demand modes, Sport, Snow, Tour, and My Mode, to enable drivers to choose their preference depending on the road conditions.

The interior of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq

The concept car that Cadillac showcased to the public had four seats. It also has a center console that extends to the rear seats. Rear seat passengers also have a touchscreen for their entertainment. However, the model is expected to have a rear bench in a five-seat configuration with lots of legroom, thanks to its SUV design.
In addition, Edmunds explains that the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq comes with advanced noise cancellation technology that insulates the passengers from outside noise.
Entertainment will be served via a 33-inch curved LED, just like in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade. It will be mated with a 19-speaker AKG stereo system and a high-end audio system.
The infotainment system will have such features as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Apart from the touchscreen, drivers can control the infotainment system using a click wheel at the center console.

What is the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq design like?

Cadillac has created a muscle vehicle with defined, bold lines and a luxury appeal.
Instead of the traditional grille, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq comes with a dramatically illuminated Black Crystal Shield with LED projectors that create thin, vertical headlamp lighting. It also comes with LED tail lamps for both functionality and art.
In addition, it has a full-glass sunroof from rail to rail and a signature full-glass roof that stretches all the way to the top. Below it is a power sunshade that allows you to set the view's size on the glass.
It has an automated charge port door and comes with 20-inch wheels as standard and 22-inch ones as an option.
