Audis are known for unique exterior design, luxury interiors, and high-end technology features. Many Audi models are also really expensive. That being said, you can save some money on car-related expenses like gas when you opt for an electric vehicle like the e-tron GT.

2022 Audi e-tron GT EV pricing information

The base-level 2022 Audi e-tron GT Premium Plus has a starting price of $103,985.
That’s right—even at its cheapest, the e-tron GT is more than a hundred grand. The model’s higher trim levels, the Prestige and the RS, are even more.
Each of the models is equipped with a dual-motor, all-electric powertrain and Audi’s quattro® all-wheel drive system. That said, with approximately $40,000 separating the GT Premium Plus from the GT RS, that’s where the similarities between the trio of trims end.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the starting MSRP for each of the 2022 e-tron GT EV trims before upgrades:
  • 2022 Audi e-tron GT Premium Plus: $103,895
  • 2022 Audi e-tron GT Prestige: $111,095
  • 2022 Audi e-tron GT RS: $143,895

What is the cheapest Audi e-tron GT EV?

The base trim GT Premium Plus is the most affordable e-tron GT EV—if we can call a $100,000 price tag “affordable.” The GT Premium Plus is powered by a pair of electric motors and Audi’s latest quattro all-wheel drive iteration to produce a maximum of 522 horsepower, which is pretty impressive for a base powertrain.
The entry-level e-tron GT is also equipped with an advanced cooling system that works to actively manage the temperature of the EV’s battery pack, allowing the model to handle repeated runs without suffering from the same heat-related degradation as other electric vehicles.
But the e-tron GT isn’t particularly impressive when it comes to efficiency. With an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 82 MPGe and 238 miles of all-electric range, the e-tron GT trails behind the likes of EVs that are less than half as expensive.
On the bright side, the e-tron GT can reportedly charge from 5% to 80% in just 23 minutes using a standard 270-kW DC fast charger.
Additional standard features on the e-tron GT Premium Plus include:
  • 19-inch wheels
  • 85.0-kW lithium-ion battery
  • Multiple digital displays
  • All-leather upholstery (recycled vegan leather upholstery is also available)
  • 10.1-inch central touchscreen with steering wheel-operated controls
  • Voice recognition software
  • Forward-collision warning
  • Automated emergency braking

Is an e-tron GT EV worth it?

Overall, the 2022 Audi e-tron GT has received rave reviews, mostly in reference to its powerful electric motors and advanced handling courtesy of the all-wheel-drive system and adjustable air suspension. The e-tron GT certainly lives up to its luxury roots, as well, with plenty of standard tech and an undeniably plush and well-equipped interior.
Even at its lowest trim, though, the e-tron GT is downright expensive. But that’s not the question—the question is: is it worth it?
At the end of the day, whether or not the Audi e-tron GT EV is worth it to you is going to be a decision only you can make. That being said, the e-tron GT has a plethora of desirable features for drivers who are willing and able to dish out $100,000+ for their next car.
The mid-tier e-tron GT Prestige offers the best combination of tech and performance features without being as exorbitantly expensive as the RS. The GT Prestige shares the same 522-horsepower dual-motor powertrain as the less expensive Premium Plus e-tron, while adding adaptive cruise control, ambient interior lighting, heated rear seats, a head-up display, and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system
But again whether or not the e-tron GT—at any trim—is worth it is going to be an incredibly personal decision. Following are more specs that might make the decision easier to make.

What is the horsepower of an e-tron GT EV?

The 2022 Audi e-tron GT is available with dual-electric-motor powertrains that offer two different horsepower outputs. The Premium Plus and Prestige models share the same 522-horsepower motors. Meanwhile, the top-tier RS trim boasts a maximum horsepower output of 637 ponies

What is the range of the e-tron GT EV?

Similar to sharing the same powertrain, both the GT Premium Plus and Prestige models offer EV drivers the same 238 miles of all-electric driving range with a fuel economy rating of 82 MPGe. Surprisingly, the more expensive GT RS actually drops off both in terms of electric range and fuel economy with 232 miles of range and 81 MPGe

Is the e-tron GT EV reliable?

Only time will tell whether the e-tron GT EV will come to be considered a reliable car or not. However, here are some factors that potentially give us a look at the model’s future reliability:
  • Audi models consistently rank well below average in terms of reliability. In fact, Audi has been ranked 34th out of 40 in reliability by the Reliability Index.
  • Electric vehicles tend to be more reliable than gas-powered vehicles for the simple reason that they have fewer components capable of wearing out. However, the cost of repairs is often steeper, offsetting the benefits.
