Between the 2021 Audi e-tron GT and the 2022 Audi e-tron GT Who Wins?

In 2021,
Audi
released an upmarket version of its electrified SUV, the
e-tron GT
, which also came with a racing sport (RS) performance model.
The electric sportscar is notable for sharing a platform with sister company Porsche’s Taycan but needed to be different enough to establish its own legacy. While you could draw similarities between the Porsche Taycan and the e-tron GT, the e-tron really stands out as its own vehicle.
The Verge
raved about the performance of the 2021 Audi e-tron GT, but that performance and design came at a steep price point starting at $140,000. It was more expensive than the Taycan, the Tesla Model S, and the Mercedes-Benz EQS.
They weren’t the only ones to sing the praises of the 2021 Audi e-tron GT either.
CNET
also reviewed the e-tron GT and praised its attention to detail and ambiance, but noted a few drawbacks as well.
Following its initial success, the Audi e-tron is back with a 2022 version that is receiving similar rave ratings.

2021 Audi e-tron GT vs the 2022 Audi e-tron GT: specs

In 2021, buyers and test drivers alike praised the Audi e-tron GT for its impressive specs and sporty ride. One of the things most noted, however, was its lofty price.
The same is true for the 2022 Audi e-tron GT, which has three trim levels to select from Premium Plus starting at $102,400, Prestige at $109,600, and the RS at $142,400.
That’s right in line with the 2021 model prices upon their release, but you may be able to find one used for slightly cheaper.
The 2021 Audi e-tron comes with two electric motors that produce a combined 590 horsepower or 637 with overboost, and comes standard with all-wheel drive. It can also accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
The EPA-estimated driving range is 249 miles on a single charge, and the 800-volt charging system can refill your battery to 80% in 20 minutes with a DC fast charger.
The 2022 Audi e-tron GT has a top speed range between 152 and 155 mph, depending on the trim. The 2022 RS can also go from zero to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.
The RS version of the 2022 e-tron GT also produces an astounding 637 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque when running in overboost. With those specs, it’s Audi’s quickest car to date. Range numbers are on par with the 2021 version.
Both production years received high praises for smooth acceleration and a luxurious ride overall.

Which year wins between the 2021 Audi e-tron GT vs the 2022 Audi e-tron GT?

Between the two years, the production seems nearly identical, although the 2022 Audi e-tron GT does pack a bit more power.
If the $140,000+ price tag on the RS versions is too steep for you, finding a used 2021 Audi e-tron GT could be the way to go. But if money is no object, you might as well go for the 2022 version.
As Audi continues to produce the e-tron and electric vehicle technology only improves, it seems like subsequent years are only going to get better in terms of performance.
