MLB All-Star catcher Buster Posey drove a 2016
Toyota Tundra
that was auctioned off for charity at the end of the season. He also owns a 1967 Ford MVP500
Mustang
. Posey might not have the most epic car collection compared to other high-profile athletes, but he has a pretty sweet ride.
Buster Posey has good taste in cars even if he doesn’t own a garage full of them like LeBron James. While the Tundra he used to drive was for charity, his earnings got him an impressive Mustang as well. It might not fit his unassuming personality, but it’s a classic muscle car.

Who is Buster Posey?

After a successful college baseball career with the Florida State Seminoles, Buster Posey was drafted fifth overall in 2005 by the San Francisco Giants as a catcher. He played his entire 12-year career with the Giants—a rarity in professional sports.
Posey accomplished a lot in his career, including:
  • Three-time World Series Champion
  • Six-time All-Star
  • National League MVP
  • Four-time Silver Slugger Award winner
  • Gold Glove winner
  • National League Batting Title
In 2013, the Giants rewarded Posey with a nine-year $167 million contract. A hefty sum for a catcher, but for a player of Posey’s caliber, it turned out to be a bargain.
Posey retired in 2021.

2016 Toyota Tundra

To support the Posey Family Foundation, Posey partnered with Toyota for a pretty cool contest. For starters, Toyota created the Tundra 1794 Edition to celebrate the Texas ranch where the Tundra factory is located.
Posey drove this truck throughout the 2016 MLB regular season, and then it was auctioned off once the playoffs ended.Toyota chose a good season to run the promotion as 2016 saw Posey win his first Gold Glove (awarded for superior individual fielding performance)—he was also named to his fourth All-Star Game.
The Toyota Tundra is a pretty impressive full-sized pickup. It has a tough exterior and reliable capabilities. One considerable drawback noted by owners is the lack of configurations that were offered.
This truck was available with a regular cab, a “Double Cab” extended cab, or a Crewmax four-full-door variant, and all of them had fixed truck bed choices except for the Double Cabs.
Furthermore, owners could choose between:
  • 310-hp 4.6-liter V8 engine
  • 381-hp 5.7-liter V8 engine
Both engine types come with a six-speed automatic transmission, and you can choose between rear- or four-wheel drive.
The 2016 Tundra didn’t offermany upgrades to the 2014 model, which included:
  • A new grille
  • Tweaked headlights and taillights
  • New tailgate design
The 2016 Tundra also had some minor trim changes and equipment shuffling—nothing too enticing.

1967 Ford MVP500 Mustang

Posey owns an unbelievable 1967
Ford Mustang
. Built by East Bay Muscle Cars, it’s an enviable car, even for pro athletes.
It has an 828-hp Borla stack-injected Boss Hemi engine and uses a Bowler Performance 4L80E transmission. It’s supported by a Roadster Shop chassis and Penske Racing Shocks coilovers.
While its performance and drivability stand out, its finish made of graphite/HTM centers with polished outers is truly spectacular.
This car is fitting for a true MVP like Buster Posey. While he was never a flashy player, this is a great car for him to enjoy in retirement.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
