What are the rules for license plate frames in Utah?
Section 41-1a-403
of the Utah Motor Vehicles code states that “License plates and the required letters and numerals on them, except the decals and the slogan, shall be of sufficient size to be plainly readable from a distance of 100 feet during daylight.”This means it’s okay if your frame blocks your decals or either of the state’s slogans—“Greatest snow on earth” or “Life elevated”—but your license plate number must be clearly visible at all times.
As long as your license plate frame doesn’t block your plate number, it’s legal.
