How to replace Tesla Model 3 wipers

Thankfully, windshield wipers make for easy installation, so replacing them is a pretty DIY-friendly maintenance task for car owners.
First, put the Tesla Model 3’s wipers in the service position: To do this, shift your car into park and turn your wipers off. Then, touch the “Controls” option on your touchscreen. Select the “Service” option, then turn the “Wiper service mode” to “ON.”
Once you’re ready to swap out your wiper blades, take the following steps:
  1. Slide out the old wiper blade.
  2. Slide the new blade into place, making sure it’s snugly in place in the groove.
  3. Return the blade component to its place on the wiper arm.
  4. Turn on your Tesla, then test the new blades by pressing and immediately releasing the button on the end of the turn signal stalk.
If your new wiper blade test goes well, you’re good to go!
If you find there’s an issue with the wiper blade arm: Bring it to your nearest Tesla dealership to have it checked out.

How often to replace Tesla Model 3 wipers

Experts recommend replacing your wiper blades every 12 months, but you may notice wear and tear before that—especially if you drive in an area with frequent rain or snow.
Extra precipitation means harder work for your windshield wipers, so residents of
Rochester
or
Portland
may find that they need to replace their windshield wipers more often than residents of sunny
Las Vegas
, for instance.
It’s time for a new set of Tesla windshield wipers if your current wipers:
  • Don’t make full contact with your windshield
  • Drag across your windshield
  • No longer effectively clear your windshield, even when you have enough windshield washer fluid
The bottom line: As soon as you notice your wiper blades are not cleaning as efficiently as they used to, you should replace them.
