1. “Complicated” by Avril Lavigne

If there were a word to describe whittling down the thousands of worthy songs to scream in your car to just 10, it’d probably be “complicated.” And no one gets that more than Canadian pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne.
This top hit from 2002 epitomizes teen angst, yet its subject matter, which deals with a partner who is awesome one-on-one but totally different around their friends, is relatable to all. Talk about complicated!
“Chill out, what ya yellin' for?,” sings Avril Lavigne. Girl, I’m in my car with the windows up—I’m gonna scream-sing like it’s no one’s business!

2. “Firework” by Katy Perry

Put this song on in the car and the only thing that will sound louder than your singing is actual fireworks!
Have you ever met anyone who hasn’t felt like a plastic bag drifting through the wind? Neither have we. This pop hit by Katy Perry speaks to people from all walks of life who are hesitant to be their true selves. KP gets it and lets you know that there’s no better feeling than being who you are.
So scream this one in the car a few times over, and let your colors burst!

3. “Hey Ya” by Outkast

This lively and upbeat-sounding song from 2003 can transform any dull ride into a full-on party in your car! “Hey Ya” is so catchy we recommend rolling down the windows to share this sweet melody with everyone on the road.
But in between busting out a few road-safe dance moves, pay extra attention to the lyrics of this pop-funk hit, and you may uncover the deeper meaning that André 3000 and Big Boi have to say about love and relationships.
If you’re not ready for all that, then at least the answer this: “What’s cooler than being cool? (Ice Cold!)” Oh, and always lend your neighbor some sugar!

4. “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen

You can scream Queen all you want in your car. But if you want a track that combines the lowest of notes with the highest of notes to perfection along with a delightful operatic detour right in the middle of the song, then “Bohemian Rhapsody” it is!
Enjoy the slow build as you enter the on-ramp to the freeway, and then let loose as you pick up speed joining in with the vocal wonders of Freddie Mercury and crew as they crescendo to something special.
It’s hard to keep up with how many hits Blink 182 had over the years but the biggest has to be “All the Small Things.”
Released in 1999 at the peak of the pop boy band phenomenon, this track from the SoCal rock band used their music video to brilliantly parody the likes of ‘N Sync and Backstreet Boys.
But you don’t need to watch the music video to have a blast screaming this one in your car. Channel your inner ’90s kid and let this one carry you home!

6. “If I Were a Boy” by Beyonce

Even if you are a boy, you should still love screaming this one in your car! Pop Goddess Beyonce hits the high notes in this track that will take your song-screaming ability to new heights.
Not only will you give your vocal cords a nice workout, but you may just learn a thing or two about being a better partner to the one you love.
And that’s a pretty sweet deal for just five minutes of ride time. Thanks, Beyonce!

7. “Lose Yourself” by Eminem

If this song is on your playlist or comes on the radio, you better be ready to scream it out because as Eminem says “you only got one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.”
Sure, I guess in this case you could always replay the song and give yourself as many shots as you desire, but if you want to do right by Slim Shady, nail it on your first take, and show just how hard you can lose yourself behind the wheel.

8. “Superstar” by Carpenters

There’s a scene in the movie Tommy Boy, where Chris Farley and David Spade’s characters are on the open road flipping through radio stations to no avail. That is until they land on this timeless love ballad. Neither wants to admit that they want to change it, so they just let it play.
CUT TO: the middle of the song, and we see the comedic duo in tears as they scream their hearts out singing the chorus “Don't you remember you told me you loved me, baby?”
There are so many love ballads you can scream in the car, but not many of them go back over 50 years like this duet.

9. “Hello” by Adele

You can only have so many upbeat and motivational songs to get you through your drive. We get it. Sometimes you’re in a MOOD. Thankfully, there are a lot of songs to choose from, but there’s only one that hits scream-worthy notes that can make you roar louder than your engine.
Say HELLO to Adele. And say goodbye to anyone who gives you a hard time for belting this one out because you deserve to be heard!
You can scream just about any Adele song in the car, but this slow jam really packs a punch that will help you not only conquer the road but, if you’re lucky, your own personal journey too!

10. “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey

We may not all be just small-town girls or just city boys or singers in a smoky room, but hopefully, whoever you are, you don’t stop believing. There’s no better song to kick off your road trip, to end your road trip, or to play over and over on your road trip than this timeless classic from Journey.
You either love it or try way too hard pretending to hate it, but no matter what, once that chorus kicks in, you'll be scream-singing in your car like you never have before.
