The Mercury Milan Premier V6 may look like a ho-hum sedan, but under the hood, you’ll find a 3.0 liter Duratec V6 engine that’s capable of putting some extra oomph into your errand running. It just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover.
Although Ford phased out production of the Mercury brand in 2011 to focus more on the Ford and Lincoln names, you’ll still see the iconic brand represented on the road with regularity. The Milan Premier V6 was sold between 2006 and 2011, and offered buyers an entry-level sedan with a little something extra, like a V6 engine and the option for all-wheel drive.

The Mercury Milan Premier V6 was the midsize family sedan that has more than meets the eye. With a V6 engine and features that were luxe in its day, it could get your errands done and make sure you enjoyed the drive.
It got a four-star crash rating from the NHTSA and was a Top Safety Pick for the IIHS in 2010. The interior offered heated leather-trimmed seats and multi-zone air conditioning for some extra pizazz.
Other features of the Milan Premier V6 include:
  • Optional AWD: Even though it’s just a mid-size sedan, having all-wheel drive provides better traction, stabilizes handling, and gives the driver greater confidence in dicey road conditions.
  • Standard Bluetooth, satellite radio, and an MP3 player: For its time, the Milan Premium offered solid infotainment options.
A navigation system was optional, but a heads-up display was not available.

How’s the fuel economy?

Cars with V6 engines are fun to drive, but that typically comes at the expense of fuel economy. The Mercury Milan V6 got about 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, versus roughly 22 and 31 for its four-cylinder versions.
The Mercury Milan was available as a hybrid model, but it wasn't a V6. This version was capable of delivering 41mpg on the city streets and 36 mpg on the highways.

Which Mercury Milan models have the V6?

The V6 engine was available on four of the six trim levels that were offered on the Milan: the base trim, the V6 Premier, the V6 AWD, and the V6 Premier AWD. The V6 Premier AWD was the priciest model at the time of production.

How fast is the Mercury Milan V6?

V6 engine or not, the Mercury Milan isn’t going to win any checkered flags. It’ll get from 0 to 60 in 6.9 seconds, which is certainly respectable.
It did keep pace with the two comparable models at the time as far as speed went, though. Take a look at the 0 to 60 times for its two competitors:
While it’s not a performance vehicle, the Mercury Milan can deliver enough speed when needed.
Key Takeaway A V6 engine and optional AWD makes the Mercury Milan a mid-size sedan that can handle anything from a night out to a day of grocery runs and soccer practice.

Which is better: Premier AWD or Premier FWD?

The decision to go with all-wheel or front-wheel drive will depend on your personal preference and the kind of driving you do. While all-wheel drive brings increased stability and better handling (especially in bad weather), it comes at the cost of reduced gas mileage
The Milan Premium isn’t exactly an off-road vehicle. Your need for AWD will be pretty much limited to urban situations unless you’re into Griswold-style family road trips.
If you live somewhere that is prone to inclement weather, bad roads, or sees snowy or icy winters, then AWD would be a nice feature to have. If not, you’re kind of just burning extra gas for nothing

Yes—the Milan Premier was available as an inline-four and V6 engine, as well as a hybrid model.
While Mercury was once a well-respected brand, reliability ratings began to slip toward the end of the line’s run. Reliability ratings for the Mercury Milan were fairly tepid.
Yes. AWD was an option for the Milan and was available in combination with the V6 engine.
