In its early 20th century history, Jeep was originally known as Willys Motor Company—hence the name of the iconic station wagon. The company officially changed its name to Jeep in 1963, the year before the Station Wagon was phased out. The name change marked a major shift in the company and, unfortunately, resulted in the Willys-Overland station wagon being replaced by the Jeep Wagoneer in 1965.
While the Willys-Overland station wagon is no longer available, it was Willy’s best-selling post-war model.

This five-door station wagon could seat up to seven passengers and boasted a massive 96 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Its interior trim featured a three-tone paintwork that simulated the “woodie” look of earlier Willy models.
Used Willys-Overland station wagons from 1946 to 1964 have recently sold for between $20,000 and $37,995 from private online sellers. With a 0 to 60 mph start time of more than 30 seconds, they might not be a match for modern-day Jeep models, but they are a great addition to any classic car collector’s garage.
