The innovative team at Jaguar currently only has one concept car in their garage—the C-X75. Introduced in 2010, this supercar acts as a vessel for the British manufacturer’s automotive research and development with an award-winning standard of beauty for the industry.
Some concept cars are intended to develop into a public release, but others are meant to stay behind closed doors for research—besides the occasional auto show flaunt of expertise. Jaguar’s concept department falls into the latter category with a single car ushering in the manufacturer’s innovative goals for performance, design, and economy.
Although we only get one concept car from Jaguar to sink our teeth into, there is plenty to learn about this ground-breaking supercar. Keep reading for all the award-winning design, innovative manufacturing techniques, and exciting specs behind the Jaguar C-X75.

Jaguar Project C-X75

First introduced at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, Project C-X75 celebrates 75 years of Jaguar innovation and automotive advancement. Don’t expect to see this supercar on the streets anytime soon—the C-X75 is not intended for public release. Rather, the concept model acts as a canvas for the continued development of Jaguar technology.
Like most conceptual projects, Jaguar’s C-X75 concept aims to marry as many favorable elements as possible in a single execution. The project captures the manufacturer’s dedication to “bold, innovative, and beautiful” with a focus on performance, technology, and economy.

Design

The chassis of the Jaguar C-X75 supercar is lightweight yet rigidly strong with its carbon-fiber manufacturing. Its fabric sheets are woven out of fine threads of pure carbon, finished with resin, and shaped into place with pressure and heat.
The result? An ultra-sleek, gorgeously curved, and classically inspired supercar with striking angular vent work and dynamic natural beauty. The C-X75 even took home the prestigious Louis Vuitton Classic Concept Award—which highlights elegance, refinement, and mechanical beauty—at its 2010 debut.

Performance

The dynamic styling of this Jaguar supercar is not without intention. The exterior of the car intends to let the viewer know exactly what to expect from the inside—sleek acceleration, exceptional handling, and stunning execution.
The C-X75 can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds and from 0 to 100 mph in under 6 seconds. The swift acceleration is made possible in part by the lightweight construction and a state-of-the-art 850-hp-packing hybrid powertrain.
A turbo and supercharged 1.6-liter dual-boosted four-cylinder engine—with Formula 1 influences—generates a whopping maximum of 502 horsepower. This engine is paired with the highest-rated electric motor on the market, bringing another 390 horsepower to the table for the concept’s combined 850-hp and a projected top speed of 220 mph.

Economy

Thanks to the innovations of hybrid technology—especially in a concept car that’s meant to take innovation to the furthest extent imaginable—-the C-X75 has a fully electric mode with a range of 30 miles
However, the C-X75’s most impressive economical spec is the hybrid powertrain’s resulting low emissions. The high-performance supercar emits about 160 grams of carbon dioxide per mile. When you consider that the current average for American car emissions is 404 grams per mile, the Jaguar C-X75 is an environmental masterpiece.
