What is an interstate highway?

If you’re crossing state lines, more likely than not you’re taking an interstate highway to do so! The Interstate highway system is a network of major routes connecting America’s metro centers.
But what does I-90 mean? One or two-digit numbers mean that you’re on an interstate highway (usually!). An east-west route like I-90 is assigned an even number—odd numbers, on the other hand, indicate an interstate that runs north to south. The most important roadways tend to end in a zero or a five—as the longest interstate route, I-90 is definitely important enough to earn the zero in its route number!

What states does I-90 run through?

Stretching from Seattle, Washington to Boston, Massachusetts, I-90 passes through a whopping 13 states! Take a look at where I-90 can take you:
In Montana, Interstate 90 shares 7.65 miles with I-15. I-90 also overlaps with I-80 for 135.60 miles in Indiana.
