2022 GMC Sierra truck bed dimensions

The 2022 GMC Sierra comes in eight trim levels with three available cab sizes and three available bed sizes. Not all cab sizes are available with all box sizes, and there are only five possible bed and cab size configurations.
Here are the dimensions of all available cargo box options for the 2022 GMC Sierra:
  • Bed length: 98.2 inches (long box), 79.4 inches (standard box), 69.9 inches (short box)
  • Bed width: 50.6 inches (all boxes)
  • Bed depth: 22.4 inches (all boxes)
  • Bed volume: 89.1 cubic feet (long box), 71.7 cubic feet (standard box), 62.9 cubic feet (short box)
The Sierra has four engine options for you to choose from—a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, a 5.3, a 6.2 V-8, and a six-cylinder diesel engine. Your truck’s hauling capacity is contingent on what engine your model is outfitted with, which drivetrain setup you opt for, as well as which cab and bed sizes you choose.
The best hauling capacity is found on Sierra models sporting the 5.3 EcoTec3 V8 engine with a rear-wheel drive, a regular cab, and a 98-inch cargo bed. That particular model is capable of lugging 2,180 pounds of cargo.
The Sierra comes with a number of tie-down points so that you can secure your load, and all Sierra models above the base trim come with GMC’s MultiPro Tailgate which allows you to extend your bed length.
