The 2022 Ford Expedition is a big, hulking beast built for hauling the family and heading off-road. The base-level XL SXT comes in 4x2 or 4x4, with a 6,000-pound towing capacity and standard seating for five. Adding third-row seating is an option for the XLT trim package and up, which will make room for seven passengers with fold-down seats. All the trims have an optional heavy-duty tow package add-on, which can take your towing capacity up to an astounding 9,300 pounds.
Then, there are the higher-end trim packages—the King Ranch, King Ranch Max, Platinum, and Platinum Max builds. These include leather or leather-trimmed seats, heated and ventilated front seats, second-row heated seats, and standard seating for seven.
The King Ranch and Platinum builds also have an enhanced horsepower of 400, and higher torque of 480 at 2250 rpm. All those extras will cost you, though, as the King Ranch Expedition starts at $75,815—nearly $14,000 more than the base model XL SXT.
