Last produced in 1991, the Lamborghini Countach is a legendary car already—but the 2022 edition is exceptional. To start, it’s a hybrid sports car. And in terms of power, it can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a toupee-dislodging 2.8 seconds.
There is only one trim (the base) available, but this Countach is special because it aims to evoke the high style and pure, unadulterated power of its 20th-century predecessor—and it does both, in spades.
Engine
The hybrid Countach sports a ragingly powerful 6.5L V12 engine. Combined with its small electric motor powered by a supercapacitor, it churns out an eyeball-squeezing 802 horsepower.
The insanely powerful engine is paired with a seven-speed single-clutch ISR gearbox. And the Countach sports rear-wheel steering, which adds impressively athletic handling and cornering.
A downside to owning the new Lamborghini Countach? Its fuel economy is ludicrous—you’ll get just 11 miles per gallon.
Speed
Speed, you ask? The Countach is mind-blowingly fast, boasting a top speed of 221 miles per hour. As mentioned, it skyrockets to 60 in just 2.8 seconds. And for those who need to know, the Lamborghini Countach can reach 124 miles per hour in just 8.4 seconds.
Styling
This 50th-anniversary car honors the Countach’s glory days in the 1970s and 1980s. Its lines have been smoothed out and simplified, just like the original Countach. In fact, the front of the new edition is almost a dead-ringer for the original model, save for the fact that this new version does not have pop-up headlights (a sad reality, no doubt).
But don’t despair—this thing is gorgeous. Its triple hexagon taillights are enveloped by a lit-up outline that screams O.G. Countach. And it features a quad exhaust setup that tips its cap to the original as well. The new Lambo also boasts a front axle lift system to protect its front end.
Customization
The 2022 Lamborghini Countach’s interior is customizable to the buyer’s heart’s (and wallet’s) content. Because so few were made, options may have even been discussed one on one. Wouldn’t it be nice?
Will this be the final Countach?
Nothing is for certain, but there’s no guarantee there will be a 2023 Lamborghini Countach. Remember, the ‘22 is a 50th-anniversary special, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the folks at Lambo aren’t in a rush to manufacture more anytime soon. But we’ve been wrong before!

Start earning nowHow much does a Lamborghini Countach cost?
Oh, right—the price. You’ll have to have a fair bit stuffed under your mattress if you’re seriously thinking about buying one of these Italian stallions. The Countach’s lone trim starts at $2.64 million—and that’s before any customization adds to the bill.
Here’s the 2022 Countach’s starting price again, written out with some breathing space around it so you can take in this truly, flabbergastingly, expensive sticker price:
Alas, just 112 models were produced and have already been purchased. So no need to scrounge for loose $100 bills in the couch cushions.
Used cost
But if you must get your hands on a Lamborghini—any Lamborghini—you can always find one used. A used Lamborghini Countach will cost mere hundreds of thousands of dollars, making them accessible… to very few people, still.
But available they are, so here are some typical listing prices for these older (yet still ferocious) speed-of-sound-defying beasts:
1991: $91,705 to $482,732
1990 (25th anniversary edition): $289,850 to $452,146
1989: $549,900 to $738,900
1988: $350,000 to $400,000
1987: $251,000 to$325,591
Remember, Lamborghini stopped producing the Countach in 1991. Par for the course, the price for used cars (especially Lamborghinis) will depend on multiple factors, including age, condition, mileage, trim, and other metrics.
How much does it cost to insure a Lamborghini Countach?
Car insurance prices fluctuate based on various factors too, especially when considering Lamborghini ownership
. If you are one of the lucky ones to own a 2022 Countach, you’ll be paying a pretty penny to protect it—about $5,424 to $7,949 per year. Of course, customization options, your age, your credit history, your driving record, and more will factor into the calculation.
How does the Lamborghini Countach compare to other models?
How dare we compare a new Lamborghini Countach to other earthly automobiles? Please do relax, as it is our job.
