Here are some basic functions of your Dodge Ram key fob—specifically, the Keyless Enter ‘N Go feature. We assume you know these already, but we’ll go over them now:

To start your Dodge Ram remotely: Push the remote-start button (the circle) twice within five seconds.

To unlock your Ram’s doors, liftgate, swing gate, and trunk: Hit the unlock button once.

To lock your Ram’s doors and gates: Hit the lock button once.

Lower all your Dodge Ram’s windows without the engine running

Who said the engine needs to be running to open and close your windows?

With your Ram’s engine off and your key fob nearby, press the engine start button once, without pressing the brakes. This puts the truck in ACC mode (accessory mode). Now, with the Ram in ACC mode, you can open and close the windows at your leisure.

Remote start your Dodge Ram from a distance

If equipped, you can remote start your Dodge Ram’s engine with your key fob from up to 300 feet away!

Just push and release the remote start (the circle) button two times within five seconds.

You’ll hear the engine start, and it will run for 15 minutes. Once that time is up, the engine will automatically shut off.

If you want to shut the engine down before those 15 minutes are up, simply push the remote start button a third time.

Use your infotainment system with your Dodge Ram’s engine off

Press the start button on your car once with your key fob nearby and without pressing the brake pedal to enter ACC mode, giving you control over the vehicle’s accessories. You’ll be able to control the radio from there.

Press the start button a second time to enter Run mode, which gives you access to the rest of the instrument cluster and the Ram’s climate control system. No need to sweat it out (or freeze to death).

Turn your windshield wipers on without needing your engine

With your key fob nearby, press your car’s start button once to enter ACC mode. Then, you’ll have control over your accessories, including your windshield wipers.

Now, just spray some wiper fluid and run those wipers until your view is pristine once again. No need to noisily start the engine and ruin the mood!

To access the physical key, find the latch on the back side of the key fob, then slide it over to pull out the key!

How to start a Dodge Ram when your key fob battery is dead

You can use the physical key to unlock the door, then slide the key back into the key fob. With your foot on the brake, take the butt-end of the dead key fob and push it against the start/stop button. The truck will recognize the dead key fob and start the engine.

Your key fob might still be dead, but your Ram has started, you are safe and warm, and you can head to your Ram dealership to get your key fob battery changed.
