The Dodge Dart SXT offered drivers a lot of room and style for a comparably low price. But buyers interested in performance will be disappointed by the lack of a V6 option.
When it comes to sedans, Dodge is known for big and burly models, like the
Charger
and the
Challenger
. This combined with the Dart’s iconic roots left critics and fans expecting a powerful modern-day version of the original V6- or V8-powered beast of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Unfortunately, they’d have no such luck. Neither the Dart SXT nor any of its stable-mates would feature anything more powerful than a turbo-four.
Settling for the four-cylinder Dodge Dart SXT is a great way to save money on things like fuel-ups and
car insurance
, but we’ve got some other options if the lack of a Dodge Dart SXT V6 is too hard for you to live with.

Finding an affordable midsize sedan with a V6 is becoming more difficult by the day. You have just two options to choose from in 2023 if you’re hoping to snag a midsize sedan with a V6 for less than $50,000:
Luckily, if you’re willing to step outside the midsize sedan box, you’ve still got some stellar options—and you don’t even have to leave
Dodge
to find them.
You can step up to the full-size
Dodge Charger SXT
or

if you want to stick with the sedan space and comfort that buyers love in the Dart. But if you want to get a bit edgier (and muscly), check out the
Dodge Challenger SXT
or
GT
. All four of these options feature a brawny 3.6-liter V6 capable of churning out up to 303 horses (depending on drivetrain options) and an approachable starting MSRP of just over $30k.
