Hyundai Veloster N
. “But wait,” you’re saying, “how can I customize a car that only has one trim level?” Well, buckle up—because

2022 Hyundai Veloster customization options

When
Hyundai
got rid of the other Veloster trim levels, they focused on power above all else.
Hyundai moved from the 1.6L engine that produced a measly 147 horsepower to a turbocharged four-cylinder that cranks out 275 ponies. With that beneath your hood, you’ll be able to hit 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds, which puts you in the same league as the
Audi A4
and the
BMW 328i
.
Before we take a look at the Veloster’s optional packages, let’s touch on some of the deluxe features you’ll get with the Veloster N:
  • 19” alloy wheels
  • LED headlights
  • 8” color touchscreen with navigation
  • Blind-spot monitoring, collision warning, and lane-keeping assist
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Gloss black side mirrors
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! With a laundry list of nifty features, you’ll want the exterior of your car to be just as stylish as the interior. Here’s the good news: the Hyundai Veloster boasts four awesome color options for the outside of your car.
If you want to turn heads as you zip past people on the highway, go for Racing Red or Performance Blue. Want something a little more subtle? A cool, composed Lunar White hue has you covered.
Or maybe you’re looking for a stealth vibe: how about Batman Black? (Okay, that one’s actually called Ultra Black—but it has a nice ring to it, no?)
Whichever color you go for
, you’re sure to be riding in style.
Now that you’re rocking a killer paint job, let’s move to the interior of your Hyundai Veloster.

Hyundai Veloster optional packages

We’ll keep this section short and sweet because Hyundai offers only one optional package:
the $1,500 eight-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission
If you want to relax on the highway, you can let the Veloster N’s new automatic transmission keep your gears gliding along smoothly. When it’s time to take control, though, you can use the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel to regulate gear changes.
There are also a few accessories for you to consider:
  • A cargo net—$55
  • A reversible cargo tray—$115
  • An interior light kit—$250
  • Rear bumper applique—$75
  • Wheel locks—$65
As far as optional packages go, that’s all she wrote. But there are plenty of aftermarket mods that will take your Veloster to the next level (hang tight—we’ll get to those soon!). First, let’s touch on a few ways that you can save money while customizing your Veloster.

How to customize your Veloster to save more money

The easiest way to save money while you’re customizing your Veloster N is to choose your favorite color and forgo the optional upgrades. If you opt out of the transmission package and accessories, that alone will save you $2,060.
Another option is to choose an older model and then customize it! For example, the 2021 Hyundai Veloster has five trim levels, and the baseline Veloster 2.0 starts at just $19,905. That leaves tons of rooms for upgrades—after all, you would be paying $32,500 for the 2022 Veloster N.
With the $13,000 difference, you can splurge on all of the aftermarket equipment your heart desires!

The best Hyundai Veloster mods

Speaking of aftermarket equipment, you can personalize your Veloster with a bunch of different mods. Let’s check out some of our favorites.

Tires

The Veloster N comes with Pirelli P Zero tires, which are geared for optimal grip and stopping power. If you’ve got different plans for your Veloster—say, off-roading or rock-hopping—you could go for a rugged set of all-terrain tires instead.

Engine

If you have a real need for speed, you don’t have to settle for the 275-horsepower Veloster N. An induction kit, like
this one from Forge Motorsports
, could ratchet up your horsepower for a few hundred dollars.
By improving the Veloster’s air intake system, the Forge Motorsports induction kit brought the car’s performance to new highs, generating over 300 horsepower in testing.
Before you jump the gun and buy aftermarket equipment, though, be sure that it’s
street-legal
and from a reputable seller! The last thing you’d want is to get an awesome new upgrade for your Hyundai, then be ticketed for breaking the law.

Road Noise

One of the few complaints that Veloster owners had centered on the car’s noisy cabin. If you’re looking for a chill driving experience, pick up a sound-proofing kit online. They’re easy to install and won’t set you back more than a few hundred bucks.
