2022 Honda Accord Sport customization options

The Honda Accord Sport is a highly-acclaimed midsize sedan with surprisingly spacious storage capacity, sporty handling, and powerful, fuel-efficient engines. It offers customization options like different engines and additional luxury features depending on trim level.
The 2022 Accord is offered in five different trim levels:
LX
,
Sport
(most popular),
Sport Special Edition
(SE),
EX-L
, and
Touring
. There is also a separate hybrid Accord available. The Sport and SE models are a bit more athletic than the base model, starting at $29,500 and $31,000, respectively. Higher trims include more luxury features, culminating in the deluxe Touring trim at a cost of $39,000.
Most Accords (including the Sport) are equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine (192 horsepower, 192 lb-ft torque). Only the Touring comes with a bigger engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (252 horsepower, 293 lb-ft torque). The Touring is powered by a traditional 10-speed automatic transmission, while all other models use a continuously variable automatic transmission that powers the front wheels.

The best Honda Accord Sport mods

Honda might offer a decent amount of customization options at the dealership, but none of them are really based around upgrading the Accord’s technical specs.
Luckily, the Accord Sport has become a fairly popular car within the modding community, and there is a whole world of aftermarket upgrades you can make to boost your car’s performance. Here are a few different upgrades you could consider for your Accord Sport:

Tires

Flashy wheels might be good for drawing attention, but it’s your tires that actually touch the road and get you where you’re going. To that end, installing a decent set of aftermarket tires can improve performance and functionality, depending on what kind of tires you go with.
Good tires will give your car more ground traction, better stopping power, and improved handling. They are also safer for you and your passengers than old, balding tires. The
Atturo All-Season Radial
is a good option, as is the
Lexani LS-20 All-Season Radial
.

Suspension

The Accord Sport is an excellent candidate for installing an upgraded suspension. This will lower your car’s center of gravity and make the handling even better. Depending on what you’re going for, you will likely end up having to choose between coil overs and lowering springs.
Lowering springs are fairly straightforward, they lower your vehicle's ride height without offering any room for adjustment. Coilovers, on the other hand, are the best of both worlds, reducing your ride height while still giving you compression and rebound adjustments. The
Vogtland Sport Lowering Spring Kit
is a good choice for the former, and the
Kontrol Pro Front and Rear Coilover Kit
for the latter.

Intake system

The Accord Sport’s turbocharged four-cylinder might be enough for the average Sunday driver, but let’s say you want a little more oomph under the hood. Something you might want to consider is an aftermarket intake system.
Installing an aftermarket intake system will improve airflow to the engine and, when paired with a high-quality air filter, ensure that only the cleanest and most oxygen-rich makes it into the system. This will translate into improved engine performance for your Accord Sport. One good option is the
Takeda Stage-2 Pro Dry S Short Ram Intake System
.
Of course, these are just a few of the possible upgrades and customizations you can make to your Honda Accord Sport. For a more comprehensive guide, look online for custom car groups and pages, or click
