If you see a car that looks like it came straight out of The Jetsons or Super Mario Kart, there’s a high likelihood that it’s a Citroën concept car. If crazy is good, then Citroën is the best in this realm!
Concept cars serve as a safe space for automotive designers to let their creative juices flow freely. As a result, production is minimal, and they usually can only be seen at international motor shows. Some concept cars are more works of art than anything.
We're here to help you develop a palate for concept cars by introducing you to some of the most extraordinary Citroën innovations ever engineered. Here are the four coolest Citroën concept cars.

Citroën 19_19 Concept

The Citroën 19_19 is the latest concept car produced by these creative geniuses, debuting at Paris' 2019 Viva Technology Show. This futuristic demonstration left observers with their jaws on the floor.
Ever played the video game Rocket League? The Citroën 19_19 might look familiar. And if you haven’t played, imagine a modern moon rover
In fact, its engineers credit aerospace for influencing the design. The 19_19 is equipped with 30-inch wheels—those puppies could definitely handle extraterrestrial terrain!
As for technological innovations, you’ll find a smart suspension system, a digital personal assistant, and Level 4 Autonomy per
SAE International standards
. Currently, no vehicles are publicly available with Level 4 Autonomy, so it’s not necessarily a lie to say this car is from the future.

Ami One Concept

The Citroën Ami One Concept isn’t just another piece of automotive art. Instead, it may revolutionize how we drive in the city!
During its big reveal at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Citroën promoted the car’s groundbreaking innovation in urban mobility. The small cube-like design (approximately 8.2-feet long, 4.9-feet wide, and 4.9-feet high) is advantageous when maneuvering in dense traffic or slipping into a tight parking space.
Not only that, the vehicle is 100% electric. It can reach a top speed of 30 mph without emitting CO2 and has a range of 60 miles. And it recharges in less than two hours!
Utility and sustainability—talk about killing two birds with one stone! And unlike most of its concept cars, Citroën is pushing to make this vehicle widely accessible to the public. So maybe you’ll see these cars buzzing (quietly) around your city one day!

Citroën Cxperience Concept

Hatchbacks
continue to be a popular body style among consumers, and Citroën must’ve wanted in on the action. They debuted the Cxperience Concept at the Paris Motor Show in 2016, revealing a stunning hatchback with a distinctively long body. But what makes this vehicle unique is its features, specifically those related to comfort and drivetrain
The Citroën Advanced Comfort package redefines what it means to relax and enjoy the ride. This interior design concept experiments with brightness, space, ergonomics, and connectivity to optimize the driving experience—as does the Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension included in the package on some models.
The Cxperience Concept takes pride in its plug-in hybrid solution, which creates a smooth, efficient drive. The gas engine can produce 150 to 200 horsepower and 80 kW of additional energy. In addition, an all-electric mode with a range of about 40 miles can be utilized for city driving.

GTbyCitroën

We’ve commonly referred to video games when discussing concept cars, but this reference has more legitimacy. The GTbyCitroën was explicitly created, designed, and produced for the Gran Turismo video game series.
To put it mildly, the GTbyCitroën takes advantage of the design flexibility in the digital world. Extremely taut lines, butterfly doors, and a wraparound windshield are just a few elements that add to this concept’s intimidating prowess.
After its reveal at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, Citroën announced that they would produce six of these concepts for the physical world. But, money spent in the digital world is slightly different from the real world—the production run was canceled due to high costs.
