How many seats does the Cadillac Escalade have?
The standard seating in all trims of the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is seven people, but you can opt for a bench on the second-row to take it up to eight.
The great news is that the interior of the Escalade is so spacious that even with the full capacity of passengers, there are no bad seats that people will be fighting to avoid.

No matter which 2022 Cadillac Escalade trim you opt for, you won’t have to sacrifice seating. All trims come with three rows of seats and a capacity of seven or eight.
But how much room is there on that third row? Well, there’s certainly less space back there compared to the front two rows, but unlike some SUVs, adults can comfortably ride in the back row of an Escalade.
The headroom is a respectable 38.2 inches (compared to 38.9 inches on the second row) and the legroom is 34.9 inches. Taller adults may be more comfortable in the second row, which has 41.7 inches of legroom, but most adults will still be comfortable in the third row, as long as they don’t play in the NBA.

You certainly won’t have to worry about fitting all of the bags in for a road trip with the Cadillac Escalade. It has a very decent 25.5 cubic feet of space, even with all three seating rows occupied.
If you only need the front two rows, that rises to an impressive 72.9 cubic feet with the third row folded down. With just two passengers in the front row, the amount of cargo space is an incredible 121 cubic feet, meaning you’d hardly have to leave anything behind.
Compare that to the 2021 Cadillac Escalade, which offered just 15.2 cubic feet behind the third row and only 109.1 cubic feet when the back rows were folded down. It’s clear to see that Cadillac has managed to maximize cargo space this time around, without compromising on seating comfort. Which other Cadillac vehicles can seat eight people?
The Escalade isn’t the only Cadillac that can fit up to eight passengers if you’re looking for space for a large family. The 2022 Cadillac XT6 offers either seven or eight seats depending on how you fit out the second row.
All XT6 trims come with a third row that accommodates three passengers, but in the second row, you have a choice of a pair of captain’s chairs to make a seven-seat capacity or a three-seat bench to fit eight people in total.
However, the XT6 can’t compete with the Escalade when it comes to space. The headroom in the front row is 39.8 inches, and only 37.2 inches on the third row, an inch lower than the Escalade’s back row.
Legroom is even more restrictive in the XT6, with the third row offering just 29.5 inches compared to the Escalade’s 34.9 inches. That’s a difference you’d notice. Even the front row loses nearly three inches of legroom in the XT6, which only has 41.2 inches compared to 44.5 inches.
The cargo space would also be an issue with just 12.6 cubic feet available behind the third row and just 78.7cubic feet with the back two rows folded down. That’s considerably less than the maximum cargo space of 121 cubic feet in the Escalade.
So when it comes to the Cadillac Escalade vs. the XT6, the latter can offer the same number of seats, but it comes with much less space than the Escalade. Eight passengers and their luggage are going to make it feel much more cramped.
