What is an interstate highway?

As you might guess from the name, an interstate highway typically passes through multiple states to connect metro areas across the United States.
It can also mean that a highway is federally funded, however—meaning that it is paid for by multiple states—leading to some rare interstates that only pass through one state.
Regardless, the numbering of each interstate communicates each highway’s direction and importance. Even-numbered interstates, like I-22, indicate the highway runs west to east while odd-numbered interstates run north to south. Generally, all interstates use one or two digits, with interstates ending in zero or five playing a more major role in national traffic.

What states does I-22 run through?

Interstate 22 runs through the northeast corner of Mississippi and the northwest corner of Alabama. Here’s a look at how the mileage is distributed:
The eastern end of I-22 was actually only recently completed in 2016 with plans to extend the interstate further to connect with US 31. Signage has already been implemented in both Mississippi and Alabama marking where “future I-22” might lead, but dates for this progress have not been determined.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
