What is an interstate highway?

Interstate highways run through multiple states and connect large metro areas throughout the United States.
The system for numbering the interstate highways can be hard to follow. Generally, one or two-digit numbers refer to an interstate highway. A north-south route like I-95 has an odd number, whereas even numbers, like I-20, correspond to an interstate that runs east-west. The most important roadways typically end in zero or five.

What states does I-20 run through?
