How big is the gas tank on a 2022 Audi Q3?

Audi has four trim packages for you to choose from for your Q3:
  • Premium 40 TFSI Quattro
  • Premium Plus 40 TFSI Quattro
  • S line Premium 45 TFSI Quattro
  • S line Premium Plus 45 TFSI Quattro
Luckily for us, the gas capacity is pretty straightforward—all four trims share the same gas capacity of 15.9 gallons or 60.2 liters. All models come with a 2.0L gas engine and support Audi’s all-wheel-drive system.
The trim sizes do have minor differences, though. The
Premium
and
Premium Plus
packages can give you a range of 365 miles when city driving and 477 miles when highway driving. The
S line Premium
and
Premium Plus
can fetch you up to 333 miles for city driving and 445 miles for highway driving.
Regarding power level, the 40 TFSI models can get up to 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The 45 TFS can do up to 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. From there, you can choose the Premium or Premium Plus configurations depending on what features you prefer.

How to check your 2022 Audi Q3’s gas tank size

Check your owner’s manual

This is the most straightforward way of verifying your gas tank size. You can look at the “specifications” section which should list your fuel tank capacity.

Measure the gas tank

Another method is to get under your car and measure your gas tank to check for the volume yourself. You’ll need a measuring tape and a calculator (unless you’re amazing at mental math).
The calculation is easy—just multiply the width, length, and height of the tank and divide the result by 231. (231 is how many cubic inches there are in one gallon of gasoline.)

Drive till empty, then fill it up

If math just simply isn’t your thing and you DO have an admirable tolerance for risk—you could try running your tank until it’s empty and then use the pump to see how much gas it takes to refill it.
A good way to do this is to wait till you’re approaching E, drive around a gas station until your fuel gauge hits E, and then start filling it up. This isn’t an exact method, but it should give you a good idea of your tank size—but you don’t want to drive too long on E and risk damaging your car parts.

How to save on fuel costs on an Audi Q3

The 2022 Audi Q3 is not known to have the best fuel efficiency. The 40 TFSI packages can go up to 23 mpg for city driving and 30 mpg for highway driving and the 45 TFSI can do 21 and 28 mpg for city and highway driving, respectively.
Don’t worry—you can still get away without pumping an unnecessary amount of money into your Q3’s fuel tank. Check out these gas conservation tips:
  • Regular maintenance. Keeping everything running well can go a long way to helping fuel efficiency. Don’t forget to change things like air filters, fuel filters, and engine oil when needed.
  • Change up your driving habits. Making a habit out of using cruise control, speeding less in high-traffic areas, and avoiding manual shift in automatic transmission can improve gas mileage.
  • Tire pressure. While theoretical, keeping your tires balanced will make rotation more constant, which means you’ll be using less power to turn the wheels.
