Cadillac’s rear Park Assist feature is standard on most luxurious 2020 Cadillac CT4 sedans, but Enhanced Automatic Parking was unavailable then. So, for now, you’ll have to park your CT4 yourself.
In an age overrun with SUVs and crossovers, the Cadillac CT4 is a classic luxury sedan, and proud of it. As a result, the 2020 Cadillac CT4 sedan had plenty of fancy bells and whistles, posh packages, and lovely aesthetic touches to choose from. But when it comes to parking the 2020 CT4, Cadillac’s spiffy Enhanced Automatic Park Assist is nowhere to be found.
Wondering just what kind of Park Assist the 2020 Cadillac CT4 sedan does (or doesn’t) have? Then, you’ve come to the right place. Park yourself here for a minute and read on!

How to use the 2020 Cadillac CT4 sedan Park Assist

Have you seen those cars that can entirely park themselves? Search for a spot, steer the wheel, change the gears, the whole thing? Well, while some new models of Cadillac can do that, the 2020 CT4 cannot. Sorry!
Not that you’ll be parking totally old school, though. The 2020 Cadillac CT4 still has rear Park Assist sensors, but it cannot park itself and doesn’t have front Park Assist sensors. This means that much of the maneuvering is still up to you, so don’t let your
parallel parking skills
fall by the wayside.
The rear Park Assist features on the 2020 CT4 provide distance alerts to objects behind you when you are moving at slow speeds, which helps to avoid collisions and takes some of the guesswork out of trying to fit into a tight parking space. Here’s how it works:
  • Multiple ultrasonic sensors on the rear bumper sense objects up to six feet behind you when driving at low speeds.
  • When an object is detected, you'll hear a series of low-pitched beeps corresponding to the object's proximity.
  • If an object is two feet from your rear bumper, you’ll hear five repeating beeps from the rear speaker.
  • You'll hear a continuous low-pitched tone if an object is one foot from your rear bumper.
  • Depending on your
    trim level
and options, you might also get alerts on your infotainment display or a camera image with guidelines if you have a rear camera.
This feature can be turned off and on through the Settings option on the infotainment screen.

Do all Cadillac CT4s have Park Assist?

All new Cadillac CT4s should have some type of Park Assist, but it varies according to trim level. But some of the 2022 and 2023 model years might not have it all, as microchip shortages led to some features being temporarily suspended.
And even in the CT4s that do have Park Assist, it’s not the enhanced version that steers, brakes, and changes gears for you. Instead, to get Cadillac’s Enhanced Automatic Park Assist, you’ll have to move up a model to a brand new
Cadillac CT5

Which 2020 Cadillac CT4 trims have Park Assist?

There were four trim levels available for the Cadillac CT4. All but the lowest trim level had rear Park Assist standard. Here’s the breakdown:
  • 2020 Cadillac CT4 Luxury: no Park Assist
  • 2020 Cadillac CT4 Premium Luxury: rear Park Assist standard
  • 2020 Cadillac CT4 Sport: rear Park Assist standard
  • 2020 Cadillac CT4 V: rear Park Assist standard
Front Park Assist did not seem to be available on the 2020 Cadillac CT4, but it did make an appearance in later years. But as previously mentioned, Park Assist may be unavailable due to supply chain issues. So if you’re shopping for a new Cadillac CT4 (or any new GM car), make sure you’re very specific when asking what features it has.
And while there are a lot of really cool packages and options that you can add to the higher trim levels of the 2023 Cadillac CT4, true self-parking isn’t among them. Maybe next model year?
