There were three different bed lengths available with the 2014 Ram 1500: 67.3 inches, 76.3 inches, and 98.4 inches. There were also three different cab sizes: Regular, Quad, and Crew cab. The Regular cab could seat three, while the Quad and Crew cab could seat up to six.
Bed length availability was primarily dependent on cab size:
- Regular cab: 76.3 inches or 98.4 inches
- Quad cab: 76.3 inches
- Crew cab: 67.2 inches or 76.3 inches
As you can see, additional space for passengers came at the expense of bed length. No matter how long, the width and depth remained the same: 66.4 inches wide at the floor, and 20.2 inches high. Interior cargo space varied by cab size, from 62.5 cubic feet to 125 cubic feet.
Towing and payload capacity also varied widely by trim level and options, but when properly configured, the Ram 1500 could handle up to 1,930 pounds of payload and tow a whopping 10,450 pounds. This was competitive among rivals like the 2014 GMC Sierra.

If you wanted some additional storage and security with your truck bed, there was the option of adding RamBox storage. This consisted of a series of lockable compartments in the sidewalls of the bed, and was available in the two shorter bed lengths, but not the longest 98.4-inch size.
