division. After thirty strong years, the Lincoln Town Car became the longest car produced by Ford worldwide, until its final year in 2011. No—the Lincoln Town Car was debuted by automobile maker, Ford Motor Company, in 1981. There were three total generations, with the final Town Car coming off the assembly line in Southwold, Ontario on August 29, 2011.

The Lincoln Town Car was produced for 30 years—from 1981 to 2011. The first generation was intended as a consolidation of the Lincoln Continental and Continental Town Car. 1981 was the only year the vehicle was offered in two-door and four-door options; the two-door was discontinued just a year later.
After nearly ten years on the market, the Town Car was given an extensive redesign for the 1990 model year. This second generation Town Car didn’t just look more modern—it also came with a massive new range of safety and luxury features. It sold like hot cakes, quickly becoming one of the best-selling full-size U.S. luxury sedans.
The third and final generation was unveiled for the 1998 model year after undergoing a complete exterior and interior overhaul. It lost two inches in length, but gained two inches in width and an inch in height, making it the tallest Lincoln sedan on the market. It also abandoned its historic boxy design and instead adopted curved lines and rounded edges.
The 2011 Lincoln Town Car was the final version to come off the assembly line, with an original MSRP of $47,225 to $52,895, depending on trim level. It had a massive 4.6-liter V8 engine, offering 239 horsepower, paired with 4-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. It sat six passengers comfortably, earning its nickname as the American land yacht.
