Where can I find my Saturn’s paint code?

Your Saturn’s paint code will always be located on the service parts identification (SVI) sticker, though the location of the sticker will depend on your vehicle’s make and model. That said, Saturn usually places the SVI sticker in one of three places: the spare tire cover, glove box, or spare tire wheel well.
Once you’ve located the sticker, the paint code should be designated by the letters BC/CC—standing for basecoat and clearcoat, respectively—followed by the letter U and a four-digit code that may include letters.
Now that you know your paint code, use
this chart
to find your Saturn’s exact color.

What if there’s no paint code on the car’s label?

If you’ve found the sticker but there is no paint code listed, you’ll have to look up the code online using your
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
, which will appear as a 17character, alphanumeric sequence and is unique to your vehicle.
Check these locations for your Saturn’s VIN:
  • The front left corner of your dashboard or instrument panel, visible through the windshield
  • The steering wheel and column
  • Driver’s side door frame and post
  • Your Saturn’s title, vehicle registration, or car owner’s manual

Where can I get paint for my Saturn?

Now that you know what color paint you need, it’s time to actually buy it. Several sites online—such as
Touch Up DIrect
and
Automotive Touch Up
—specialize in touch-up paint, allowing you to search by paint code and look up exactly what shade you need.
It may also be possible to find paint in-store at a local automotive shop, but this will usually be a much more limited selection.

Paint touch-up tips

Now that you’ve got your paint, it’s time to start the touch-up process. Check the tips below for easier painting:
  • Scrub the affected area with soap and water
  • Rusted areas can be removed
using fine sandpaper or a wire brush
  • Apply paint primer to any bare metal or plastic surface you intend to paint and leave it to dry overnight. Once dry, lightly sand it until the surface is uniform and even.
  • Paint the damaged area by building up multiple layers, allowing at least 20 minutes between coats. Let the final layer dry overnight.
  • Utilizing the same painting method, brush on a clear protective coat. Apply several layers and leave to dry overnight.
  • After three days pass, buff the area with wax or another rubbing compound.
Depending on the extent of the touch-up work required, you may not need to purchase a full can of paint to complete the task—a paint pen or small touch-up kit, which can be found at most automotive shops, may suffice!
