Where can I find my Jeep’s paint code?

There are multiple places your Jeep’s paint code can be. In most new Jeeps, the paint code should be located on the driver's side door jamb. Other possible locations include in the firewall, under the driver's seat, or on top of the radiator support.
The paint code will be one of the multiple pieces of information on a label. The paint code, usually designated PNT, is most likely to be a three-digit numerical code.
Once you have your car’s paint code, use this

to find the correct paint color.

What if there’s no paint code on the car’s label?

If you can’t find the paint code or the label has become unreadable over time, don’t panic. You can use your car’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to find the correct paint code. A VIN is a 17-digit string of numbers and letters assigned to your Jeep.
Here’s where you can find and
verify the VIN for your Jeep
:
  • The VIN may be on a sticker on the driver’s side door jamb or dashboard.
  • Check under the hood and your windshield.
  • If you can’t find the VIN written on your car, it will definitely be on your car’s title document and registration
With the VIN, you can go online or call a Jeep dealership to get the correct paint code.

Where can I get paint for my Jeep?

With the paint code, you can buy the paint wherever you want. That includes directly from
Mopar
(Jeep's OEM parts supplier), online, or at an auto retailer.
If you only have a small spot to touch up, you may be able to purchase a paint pen or a smaller pack instead.
Just make sure you get the right shade!

Paint touch-up tips

Now that you’ve got your correct paint color, you can get to work. Here’s a step-by-step guide for
how to remove scratches from your Jeep's paint
:
  • Start by washing the damaged area with soap and water.
  • Sand down any rust.
  • Apply a coat of primer to the area you will be repainting, then let it dry overnight.
  • In the morning, gently sand the area to get an even surface.
  • Apply multiple coats of paint, waiting 20 minutes between each coat.
  • After waiting a day, apply multiple clear protective coats
  • A few days later, buff the new paint with a rubbing compound for a dealership shine!
Good luck painting! If all goes well, your car will be looking brand-new in a few days.
