The manufacturer-suggested tire pressure for a Jeep Compass is 32 to 35 pounds per square inch (PSI) depending on what type of tires you have on your particular model.
Maintaining proper air pressure in your tires is important for the safety and proper function of your vehicle. Improperly inflated tires can compromise your car’s fuel efficiency, inhibit your ability to steer, and increase your chances of a blowout, contributing to higher cost of car ownership.

What is the right tire pressure for a Jeep Compass?

Jeep recommends filling your 2022 Compass tires to 35 psi for front tires and 32 psi for rear tires. That holds for all trims and tire sizes in the Jeep Compass lineup between the model years 2019–2022.
If you’re still unsure about your Jeep Compass tire pressure specs, you can confirm your model’s recommended tire pressure by checking the sticker located in the driver’s side door jamb.
Tire pressure specs for the Jeep Compass do vary from year to year and trim to trim in pre-2019 models. For example, most 2018 Jeep Compass models have a recommended 35 psi for both front and back tires, except the Limited trim with 235/45R19 tires, and the Trailhawk trim with 215/65R17 tires. In both of these cases, Jeep recommends 35 psi for the fronttires and 32 psi for the rear.
Your tire pressure specs can also vary if you are using specialty tires like high-performance tires, or if you have made any tire or wheel modifications. In these cases, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the specs for your particular tires.

How to check Jeep Compass tire pressure

Jeep makes it easy to know if your tire pressure is wrong with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) available on every Compass model. If your 2022 Jeep Compass is equipped with a TPMS, a low-pressure indicator light will come on when one or more of your tires dips below the recommended psi, and the instrument display will show you which tire or tires are in need of inflation. Older models may only be equipped with a low-pressure indicator light.
While the tire pressure monitoring system can be very helpful, it shouldn’t be used as a replacement for
a tire pressure gauge
. To check your tire pressure with a tire gauge, simply remove the cap from your tire’s valve stem and press the gauge to the valve—you’ll get a tire pressure reading instantly. Add or remove air as needed, and recheck your pressure with the gauge until your tire is at the recommended psi.
A tire gauge can be used easily at home to check your tire pressure, but if you don’t have one, you can borrow one from your local service station.
You might also be able to tell that you have low tire pressure based on your vehicle’s behavior. Low fuel efficiency, poor steering, flapping sounds, and longer-than-usual stopping distances are all signs that you might have low tire pressure.

How often should you check tire pressure?

It is always best practice to check your Jeep Compass’s tire pressure once a month and before any long excursions

How to tell if your Jeep Compass needs new tires

Your Jeep Compass’s tires should last you around six years before they need to be replaced but watch for signs that your tires might need to be changed sooner than that. Low tread depth, cracking, and bulging are all indicators that your Jeep might need new shoes.
Here’s a quick easy way to tell if your tire tread is worn out: insert an American penny into the tread with the top of President Lincoln's head pointing toward the center of the wheel. If you can see the top of Honest Abe’s head, your tires are worn out and should be replaced.

How to reset the Jeep Compass tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light

One issue that many people encounter is a TPMS indicator light that just won’t go out after you’ve properly inflated your tires. If you’re experiencing this, you probably need to
reset your TPMS
To reset the TPMS on your Jeep Compass, simply turn on your vehicle, then press and hold the TPMS button located on the instrument cluster for approximately five seconds. The warning light will go out when the tire pressure monitoring system is rebooted.
If you are receiving false alarms from your TPMS, it could be the result of a dirty or damaged sensor.

How to save on Jeep Compass insurance

Ensuring that your tires are properly inflated is one of the easiest things you can do to save big money on car-related expenses in the future. Low tires can cause your fuel efficiency to drop, costing you hundreds of dollars a year at the pump while pancaking tires can also inhibit your ability to steer, increasing your chances of getting into a costly accident. You can avoid these issues by keeping your tire pressure to spec.
