background
Most Infiniti cars have a lug pattern of 5x4.5, but you’ll need to know the exact dimensions of your Infiniti’s wheels if you want to install a new set of rims.
Infiniti is known for making reliable luxury vehicles—but even the most well-made vehicles wear down over time. If your rims are looking a little beat-up, or if you’re planning on upgrading your wheels, you’ll need to know your Infiniti’s lug pattern.

Why you should know your Infiniti’s lug pattern

Your car’s lug pattern or “bolt pattern,” is the measurement of how many bolt/lugs your car’s wheels have—and how they’re spaced out. Lug patterns are written as two numbers (ex. 5x6). The first number specifies how many lug holes there are. The second number specifies the diameter of the circle in which the holes are arranged. So, in our 5x6 example, there would be 5 bolt holes, and they would be arranged in a circular pattern with a 6-inch diameter.
If you don’t know your Infiniti’s exact lug pattern, you won’t be able to pick out rims or wheels that will fit.

Lug pattern terminology 101

If you’ve never dealt with rims, wheels, or lug patterns before, some of the terms above might sound like complete gibberish. Don’t worry—it can seem a little overwhelming at first, but it’s pretty straightforward once you’re familiar with the terminology.
Here are the key terms you should know:
  • OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, and it refers to the original equipment specifications and measurements when it comes out of the factory
  • OEM wheel size is the diameter of your Infiniti’s original wheels
  • Lug pattern or “bolt pattern” tells you the number of lug holes and the diameter of the circle they form
  • Offset is the distance from the mounting surface to the center of the rim. It will be either negative or positive depending on if the wheels bevel in or stick out
  • Stud size is a measurement of your stud’s diameter and threads per inch. Like the lug pattern, it’s written as two numbers (ex. 1/2x20)
  • Center bore is the opening at the center of the wheel

How to measure your Infiniti’s lug pattern

If you don’t see your Infiniti listed in the table above, you can always measure its lug pattern yourself. It’s pretty easy—you’ll just need a ruler or some measuring tape
The first thing to do is count the wheel’s lugs. There should be five or six—that’s how many most Infinitis have.
Next, you’ll want to measure the diameter of the circle formation that the lugs are in. Using the measuring tape, measure from the center of the wheel to the outer edge of one of the lugs—it should only be a couple of inches or so. Whatever the measurement ends up being, multiply it by 2—now you have the diameter!
So, if you counted 5 lugs and the diameter was 6 inches, your lug pattern will be 5x6.
