You’ll need a socket and filter wrench, a drain pan, and of course, a replacement filter and 5.4 quarts of 5W-20 motor oil to do your at-home oil change.

Start by running your engine until it reaches regular operating temperatures. Once you’ve warmed up your Ridgeline, follow these steps to change your engine oil:

Remove oil cap

Get under your truck to remove the oil drain bolt and washer

Drain the oil into the drain pan

Remove the old oil filter and install the new filter

Reattach the drain bolt and washer

Refill the engine with new oil
