Your Ford Fusion Hybrid came with either a spare tire or a tire repair kit. You’ll find one or the other in your car’s trunk, in a compartment underneath the floor. Simply pull up on the floor tabs to expose the trunk’s spare tire or repair kit compartment.
It is unclear why Ford decided to give some model years of the Ford Fusion Hybrid a spare tire while others didn’t get one. Both the 2015 and 2019 model years came with spare tires, while all others have repair kits.

If you have a spare tire for your Ford Fusion Hybrid, you’ll
replace it

- Remove your spare tire kit from the trunk. The kit should include the spare tire and a jack
- Jack up the car and remove the flat tire, then put on the spare tire
- Tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern, which helps ensure the tire is firmly attached to the car
- Immediately drive to a mechanic, dealership, or tire repair shop. The intent of spare tires is for short-term emergency use. They're meant to get you safely to a professional who can replace your tire with a real one
If your Ford Fusion Hybrid came instead with a repair kit, you'd need to use slightly different steps:
- Pull over safely. Find a flat, clean space if you can
- Remove the repair kit from your trunk, located where the spare tire would be otherwise
- Use the included lubricant around the tire’s puncture
- Insert the repair tool into the tire and use it to plug the tire’s hole, then remove the tool
- Trim off the end of the tire plug, so it's level with your tire's tread
- Get to a mechanic, dealership, or tire repair shop. Some patches will last a long time, and others won’t. You’ll want a professional to inspect the tire and determine if it needs a professional patch or a replacement
