How to change the radio on a Chrysler 200

In order to install a new car radio in your Chrysler 200, you’ll first need to remove the stock radio. To do this, you’ll need to pop off the plastic trim bezel that surrounds the radio touchscreen display, unfasten the mounting screws, slide out the stock radio, and then detach the wiring harnesses from the back—the whole process shouldn’t take more than ten minutes.

1. Remove the trim bezel

In the center of your Chrysler’s dashboard, you’ll see the radio display with two AC vents on either side. The display and the vents are surrounded by a plastic piece of trim covering, which is called the bezel.

When the mounting screws are removed, you’ll be able to pull the radio directly out. Once you’ve removed it, you’ll see four wiring harnesses plugged into the back of the radio—four little ones and one large one. Unclasp these harnesses, and then unplug the wires.

On the back of your new radio, locate the appropriate ports for each of the four wiring harnesses. Plug the wires into the corresponding ports and clasp them in place. Slide the new radio into position, secure it using the mounting screws, and then click the bezel back in place.
