How does Cadillac Roadside Assistance work?

As part of Cadillac’s limited bumper-to-bumper warranty, vehicle owners can access Cadillac’s Roadside Assistance program 24-hours and seven-days-a-week.
Cadillac Roadside Assistance comes complimentary with new Cadillac vehicles, starting with the 2013 model year on. When it comes to luxury vehicle roadside assistance, Cadillac’s program upstages similar brands like Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz by offering six-year or 70,000-mile coverage (whichever comes first). For Cadillac models purchased prior to 2013, roadside assistance coverage is available for five years or 100,000 miles
In addition to standard assistance with problems like a flat tire, Cadillac’s Roadside Assistance program also includes the following:
  • Towing to the closest Cadillac dealer
  • Battery jump-start
  • Vehicle unlock service
  • Trip interruption assistance
  • Trip routing
  • Emergency fuel delivery
While most of these services are available at no cost to you, there may be price tags associated with fuel delivery (for the cost of the fuel itself) or for replacing a lost or broken key

How to use Cadillac Roadside Assistance

Help from Cadillac Roadside Assistance is only a call away. To contact a representative for help getting your vehicle back on the road, you can call the 24-hour toll-free roadside assistance hotline at: 1-800-224-1400.
If your Cadillac was disabled in an accident, you may want to call 911 for emergency medical assistance for yourself or other drivers. Roadside assistance can help you with a tow for a totaled vehicle, but it’s important to first attend to your own health and safety as well as the health and safety of any other drivers present.
If you’ve
been in an accident
, be sure to also document the damage your vehicle sustained for your insurance company’s records and to help better assess your claim.

What if my Cadillac warranty expired?

If you find yourself in need of assistance but your warranty’s expired, fret not! Cadillac Roadside Assistance is available to all Cadillac owners regardless of warranty status. The only difference is, that your services may not be free of charge once your warranty has expired.

Is Cadillac Roadside Assistance worth it?

The good news is, roadside assistance comes standard with limited warranties on every new Cadillac purchase—so you don’t have to shell out any extra money to enjoy this premier service! Once your Cadillac is out of warranty, however, you’ll have to pay out-of-pocket to access these services.
Ultimately, the decision on whether you continue to use Cadillac’s Roadside Assistance program or something different is yours—but if you’re searching for roadside assistance on a budget, it may be worthwhile to consider alternatives to Cadillac’s manufacturer-owned program.

Alternatives to Cadillac Roadside Assistance

If your Cadillac’s warranty has expired, you have a couple of options:
  • OnStar roadside assistance: Some Cadillac models come equipped with OnStar, a subscription-based roadside assistance program that offers standard roadside services (including what’s covered by Cadillac’s Roadside Assistance program). Subscriptions range from $34.99 to $350—but that price tag will cover the costs of most OnStar roadside services (although there may occasionally be extra fees associated with towing and labor).
  • Towing and labor coverage: For less than $20 a year, you can add
    towing and labor coverage
to your insurance policy to offset any unexpected costs in the event of a roadside emergency. To qualify for towing and labor coverage, however, your insurer may require you to first carry collision and comprehensive coverage.
  • Cell phone companies: You may be able to enroll in a roadside assistance program through your cell carrier for as little as $5 a month—but not every provider offers this, so you’ll want to check directly with your carrier.
If you’re already carrying full-coverage insurance, buying roadside assistance coverage through your insurance company might be the most cost-effective option for you.
