The recommended tire pressure for a BMW X3 is 32 pounds per square inch (PSI). The sticker on the inside of the driver’s side door has the PSI recommendation printed on it.
There may be some slight variation in the X3’s recommended PSI depending on what tires it’s equipped with, but in general 32 PSI is the correct tire pressure for most BMW models. Keeping your tires properly inflated makes your vehicle easier to steer, better on gas, and all around safer to drive.

What is the right tire pressure for a BMW X3?

The recommended tire pressure for the majority of BMW vehicles is 32 PSI, but the exact numbers vary depending on the model. If you look at the sticker on the inside of the driver’s side door frame, you’ll see the PSI recommendations. Many X3s advise that you inflate the front tires to 32 PSI and the rear tires to 35 PSI
The recommended tire pressure may also differ depending on what kind of tires you have on your BMW X3. For insurance, equipping your X3 with high-performance tires may require you to adjust the PSI. It’s important to always follow tire recommendations—not only does it keep you and your passengers safer inside the vehicle but it also prolongs the life of your tires

How to check BMW X3 tire pressure

In recent years, BMW has offered its iDrive 7.0 Operating System as a standard feature on the X3 and most other models. This multimedia system allows you to view the tire pressure of all four wheels in real time, making it super easy to monitor the PSI.
If you notice that the pressure is getting a little low in one or more tires or your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alerts you about low air in your tires, you’ll need to check the pressure right away.
Ideally, you should wait until your tires have cooled down to get a more accurate read. Start by unscrewing the valve system cap and placing a
tire pressure gauge
on the valve stem. Press the gauge down to get a read on the PSI in the tire.
Based on the reading, you will know whether or not you need to add air. You should always read all four tires.

How often should you check tire pressure?

Checking your tire pressure about once a month is a wise precaution. You should also check tire pressure prior to going on any long trips.

How to tell if your BMW X3 needs new tires

When you check your tire pressure, make sure you take a look at the overall condition of the tires. If you see signs of uneven wear or low tread on one or more of the tires, it’s time to replace it.

How to reset the BMW X3 tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light

It’s frustrating when you’ve taken the time to properly fill your tires with air and the TPMS keeps lighting up your dashboard. This is more common than you might think, and the best thing to do if it happens is to
reset your TPMS
.
On the home menu of the iDrive system click through the following order of menu options:
  • Car
  • Vehicle status
  • Tire pressure monitor
  • Tire settings
From there, you’ll be able to reset the system—but you’ll also need to drive for about ten minutes afterward to allow the PSI sensors to register the reset. While you’re driving, you should see the TPMS warning light switch off.
If you’ve attempted a TPMS reset numerous times and the light remains on, you may want to have your X3 checked out. An experienced mechanic or maintenance specialist at the BMW dealership should be able to help.
