Apple CarPlay has become a coveted feature on new cars with useful functionalities like touchscreen-controlled music and navigation and hands-free calls and texts. Luckily, the Dodge Ram pickup truck jumped on the Apple bandwagon in 2018, and every model since (regardless of cab or chassis) has come standard with this software—including the Ram 1500.
But that doesn’t mean it turns on automatically! We’ll help you connect your iPhone to Apple CarPlay in your Ram 1500—read on to find out more.

Does the Ram 1500 have Apple CarPlay?

Yes, Apple CarPlay has been a standard feature on all Ram 1500 configurations since 2018—as well as all Ram
2500
,
3500
, and 4500 models.
You won’t have to worry about adding Apple CarPlay while you
build your custom Ram 1500
—this feature already comes included with Ram’s Uconnect infotainment software! You can connect your phone wirelessly or with a USB cable to integrate music and navigation apps directly into your Ram 1500’s infotainment interface, use hands-free functions for calls and texts, and more.
Apple CarPlay was available on some earlier Ram 1500 models but only as an upgrade. For example, only 2017 Ram 1500 trucks with an upgraded 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen included Apple CarPlay compatibility. The smaller 7.0-inch touchscreen setup was not compatible.
