Toyota 4Runner bolt pattern

The most common bolt pattern for a Toyota 4Runner is 6x5.5 in inches, or 6x139.7 in millimeters. Here’s what all these numbers mean:
# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form
To put it another way, this would mean a 4Runner would have six bolts on each wheel arranged in a circle that forms a 5.5-inch diameter. Measured in millimeters, that second number would be 139.7.
But just like other vehicle characteristics, your 4Runner’s bolt pattern may differ depending on its model year and any special configurations.
Besides the bolt pattern, there are other wheel specs you’ll need to know before picking out a new set of wheels for your 4Runner. Depending on your 4Runner’s model year, here are what some of your additional wheel specifications may look like:
  • Factory wheel size: 17” to 20”
  • Stud size: M12x1.5
  • Offset: -75 to 25 mm, -38 to 20 mm
  • Center bore: 106.1 mm
Of course, you’ll want to verify these measurements for your own 4Runner. If you’re having trouble confirming them, most wheel and tire shops will have tools to help you determine whether a certain set of wheels is compatible with your vehicle.

How to measure your Toyota 4Runner’s bolt pattern

If you want to measure your Toyota 4Runner’s bolt for yourself, it’s pretty easy to do—and all you need is something to measure with.
The number of bolts on your wheel will determine how you should measure your bolt pattern. Luckily, with six lugs, it’s pretty straightforward.
Just pick any lug hole on any wheel and start your measurement from the center of that hole. Then, measure to the center of the lug hole directly across from it. Note that measurement, and you have your pitch circle diameter (PCD).
Place this measurement after your pitch circle diameter, and you’ve got your Toyota 4Runner’s bolt pattern.
