2017 F-150 bolt pattern

So, what is a bolt pattern anyway? Also called a lug pattern, it’s best summed up as:

# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form

It’s important to know your bolt pattern because your new wheels will need to have the same pattern—otherwise, they won’t fit on your vehicle. That would definitely have a bit of an impact on your modification plans!

The bolt pattern for the 2017 F-150 is 6x5.3, or 6 on 5.3. A 6x5.3 lug pattern means that your truck’s wheels have six lugs each, set in a circle 5.3 inches in diameter.

It’s also important when planning to upgrade your wheels to know your truck’s stud size, wheel offset, center bore measurement, and torque specifications. So here’s that information for a 2017 F-150:

Factory wheel size: 17”

Stud size: M14 x 1.5

Offset: -44 to 44 mm

Center bore: 87.1 mm

Wheel tightening torque: 204 Nm

Even if you’ve had a previous F-150 model, you should never assume that the details will be the same. Different models can have very different measurements.

It’s really simple. All you need is a measuring tape or a ruler. Measure from the outer edge of the lug hole of one of the bolts to the center of the opposite bolt.

Luckily, with six bolts on the F-150, it’s easy enough to find the opposite bolt (it’s slightly trickier when there’s an odd number). That measurement is your diameter. Put that together with the number of bolts, and you’ve got your bolt pattern!
