2012 Ram 1500 bolt pattern

Similar to many Rams, the 2012 Ram 1500’s bolt pattern is 5x5.5, or 5 on 5.5. If you don’t have experience reading bolt patterns, don’t worry. Understanding these numbers is simple once you know what they represent.  Every bolt pattern, also known as a lug pattern, can be expressed as:
# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form
So for the 2012 Ram 1500, this means that each wheel has 5 bolts set in a circle that has a diameter of 5.5 inches.
Understanding your bolt pattern is important when picking out a new set of wheels for your Ram, but you’ll need a few other specs, such as stud size, wheel offset, center bore measurement, and torque specifications, to make the right choice.
Here are your Ram’s wheel specifications:
  • Factory wheel size: 17”, 20”, 22”
  • Stud size: M14x1.5
  • Offset: -44-25mm
  • Center bore: 77.8 mm
  • Wheel tightening torque: 160-190 Nm

How to measure your Ram 1500’s bolt pattern

The key wheel specifications listed above should be enough to head out to your local auto shop and pick out a new set of wheels, but if you’re interested in measuring your bolt pattern on your own, it’s easy to do from home.
You’ll just need a measuring tape or ruler to do this job. Place one end of the measuring tape on the outer edge of any bolt. Then, measure the distance from the bolt you chose to the center of the nearest bolt on the opposite side of the wheel. This measurement is your diameter—the second number in your bolt pattern.
Combine this number with the number of bolts on one wheel, and you have your bolt pattern!

How to optimize your Ram’s insurance coverage

Wheel mods are a great way to customize your Ram for better performance, both on and off the roads. But when you’re deciding on how to modify your wheels, consider upgrading your Ram’s insurance while you’re at it.
Why? Modding your Ram makes it more valuable, but it may also increase the risk factor insurance companies see when they look at your vehicle. Every insurer uses a slightly different process to finalize your premium, so any time you make big changes to your truck, it’s worth browsing for a new rate.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
