Start your oil change process by getting the engine up to its normal operating temperature. Idle the vehicle for five to 20 minutes or drive around the block a couple of times. Once you’re confident that the engine is warmed up enough, turn the ignition off while you’re on level ground. Then pop the hood and follow these steps:

Remove the oil fill cap

Get under the engine with the drain pan and socket wrench and remove the oil drain bolt to allow the old oil to drain into the drain pan

Remove the old oil filter

After the old oil has completely drained out, install the new oil filter

Replace the oil drain bolt

Pour 4.9 quarts of 5W-30 into the engine and replace the oil fill cap
