Rear-wheel drive is standard in the 2022 GLC but 4Matic is optional.

With the 2022 GLC, drivers have a much wider choice of exterior paint colors—but in the 2020 GLC, there are more interior color choices.

There is slightly less cargo volume in the 2020 GLC than in the 2022 GLC. Considering that the 2022 GLC already has a smaller cargo space (19 cubic feet behind the rear seats) than other crossovers in its class, this is a serious drawback.

Of course, this crossover SUV isn’t known for offering a ton of cargo space. But busy families and weekend warriors might be swayed one way or the other by the extra few cubic feet of storage in the 2022 model.

Otherwise, the 2020 and 2022 GLCs are pretty similar. Both models include a 10.25-inch standard infotainment screen that can be activated by touch or voice. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. In addition, both models include newly styled headlights and taillights, redesigned grille, new wheel designs, and slightly different bumper styling.

The MSRP for a new 2020 GLC was $43,495, and the 2022 GLC MSRP starts at $44,900. With this said, you may be able to buy a used 2020 Mercedes GLC for between $35,000 and $40,000.
