This is a one-time tax valued at 6.6% of the vehicle's fair market value for Georgia residents registering a car for the first time or 3% for new Georgia residents registering an out-of-state vehicle.
Registration fees may vary from county to county, but for most regular cars or lightweight trucks, the base fee is $20, plus an $8 fee for your new license plate.
