The CT4 is the cheapest Cadillac you can buy
The Cadillac CT4 is a compact executive sedan with a starting MSRP of $34,395. It replaced the Cadillac ATS in 2020.
The CT4 comes with a 2.0L turbocharged engine and 8-speed automatic transmission standard, which will get you from 0-60 mph in about 6.2 seconds. However, the base model doesn’t come standard with leather seats or the 12-inch diagonal HD color reconfigurable driver cluster. You will still get two-way power control lumbar support for the driver and front passenger as well as an HD rearview camera.
The CT4 offers an approximately 17-gallon fuel tank, which can get you anywhere from around 380 miles to over 575 miles depending if you’re driving in the city or on the highway. The vehicle also comes with many safety features standard, like lane-keep assist with lane departure warning and forward collision alert.
The price differential isn’t too extreme between the three available trims, but those prices can quickly increase with added packages. Check out the starting MSRPs:
How much cheaper is the Cadillac CT4?
The CT4 is the cheapest of Cadillac’s sedans. However, they also offer a competitively priced SUV as well. The XT4 has a starting MSRP of $36,295. That’s a less than $2,000 difference between the CT4 sedan and the XT4 SUV.
The CT5, another sedan, is the closest in price to the CT4. It has a starting MSRP of $38,195, which is only $3,800 more than the CT4.

As you can see, the prices of the base models for both the sedans and SUVs are in a similar ballpark, but once those prices start increasing, they do so very rapidly!
How to find an affordable Cadillac
Because Cadillac is a luxury brand, the price tags are considerably higher than for non-luxury cars like
GMCs
. Try these strategies to avoid overpaying for your Cadillac: - Stick to the base model. The base model will always be the cheapest, and in a luxury vehicle, that price difference will be more noticeable. The jump from the base model to the next trim is often the steepest, so keep it simple to keep that price tag low.
- Avoid unnecessary upgrades. Each trim level comes with options, and while many of those options may be appealing, are they really worth the price? It’s something to consider if you’re buying new.
- Go used. Choosing a used car will often save you money without sacrificing reliability. A model that’s only a couple years older will usually provide you with almost the same perks for a reduced price (as long as there wasn’t a recent massive redesign).
- Look for dealer incentives. If you are planning on buying new, check to see if your local dealerships are offering any special deals, discounts, or financing options on specific vehicles.
The best Cadillac CT4 competitors you can buy for under $35,000
If you really want a Cadillac but have a limited budget, the CT4 is your cheapest option. But there are other options on the market if you’re on the lookout for any luxury vehicle under $35,000. Here are some of them:
- Acura Integra: Starting MSRP of $31,300. This compact combines the high-end features of a luxury brand with an extremely sporty look. If you’re looking for something that looks a little more youthful, look no further.
- Chrysler 300: Starting MSRP of $33,740. This midsize car gives you a little more room at a similar price point to the Cadillac CT4.
- Mercedes-Benz A220: Starting MSRP of $33,950. This model, introduced in 2019, is being discontinued. If you like the look of it, now might be your best chance to get one.
