But what do these bonus features accomplish?
The Adaptive M Suspension Professional feature that this package adds to the X6 helps make the X6’s already-smooth handling even more precise. But how does it do this? For starters, it has a lowered chassis, and it can electronically tighten and relax dampers as road conditions change in real-time.
The package’s Active Roll Stabilization is an active suspension control system that makes better use of physics to reduce body roll and make tighter turns at low speeds.
The final component in this trifecta, Integral Active Steering, makes handling at low speeds even more agile. Meanwhile, handling at higher speeds is made stabler. It largely accomplishes this by controlling wheel movement direction.
At lower speeds, the front and rear wheels move in opposite directions for better handling when turning. At higher speeds, they move in the same direction, which improves vehicle stability and helps make lane changes smoother.
All in all, the package has the makings for a stabler, more responsive, and more comfortable ride.
The 2023 BMW X6’s Dynamic Handling Package is available on the M50i trim for an extra $2,600. That’s on top of the base price, which starts at $89,100 for the M50i.

Is the X6 Dynamic Handling Package worth it?
If you have the cash to spare and believe the act of driving a luxury car should feel as luxurious as the comfort and convenience perks it offers, the X6 Dynamic Handling Package is probably worth it.
It could also be more cost-effective. The X6 M offers many of the package features as standard, along with more powerful performance capabilities, but you would have to spend another $24,000 or so to take this trim home with you.
The 2023 xDrive40i may not have a Dynamic Handling Package option, but it still offers solid performance specs all on its own.
The M50i has a more powerful V8 engine capable of up to 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, and the Dynamic Handling Package can certainly contribute to better handling, but even so, the xDrive40i trim’s handling and stability are far from satisfactory by most reviewers’ standards—and it’s about $20,000 less.
The X6 M trim offers features, like Adaptive M Suspension Professional with Active Roll Stabilization, as standard, which eliminates the need for a Dynamic Handling Package option.
In addition to what it shares with the M50i, the M offers additional handling and braking features as standard that the M50i drive doesn’t, including:
M-tuned electric power steering with M Servotronic
M Compound four-wheel ventilated anti-lock disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors
Dynamic damper control with rear-axle air suspension
M Drive with M Dynamic driving mode
For drivers who are really serious about performance, the M trim is also capable of quite a bit more power—up to 617 horsepower with the competition package. That’s a significant step up from the M50i’s 523 horsepower, and a giant leap from the xDrive40i’s 335 horsepower.
If you’re looking for a smooth, precise driving experience but don’t need the max power capabilities the X6 M allows, splurging on the Dynamic Handling Package with the X6 M50i is a much cheaper way to get it.
On the other hand, drivers who have a need for power and speed, plus a lot more room in their budgets, might prefer to opt for the X6 M over the Dynamic Handling Package.
To find out if the package is worth it for you, it may be worth trying to track down an equipped X6 and take it for a test drive to see whether you notice a desirable difference.
