How much does Subaru WRX Premium car insurance cost?

Subaru WRX Premium drivers pay an average of $96 each month for the state minimum coverage, and $219 per month for a full coverage insurance policy. The Premium trim costs 10% more to insure than other Subaru models.
But before you draw up your budget, just know that your car insurance premiums depend on many other factors besides your vehicle. A driver’s age, driving record, deductible, and credit score can all count for or against them in the search for the cheapest car insurance.

Compare the cheapest Subaru WRX Premium car insurance quotes

If talking about insurance premiums makes you cross-eyed, consider letting a licensed insurance broker take the lead. The Jerry Insurance Agency provides free quotes and price comparisons for drivers and cars of all kinds, including the Subaru WRX Premium.

Remember, the national
average rate for insurance
doesn’t necessarily tell you what your insurance costs will be—you need a
personalized car insurance quote
for that.
Imagine an 18-year-old and 40-year-old driver who both own Subaru WRX Premiums. Even if they both have a clean driving record and good credit, the 40-year-old will still pay lower rates than their younger counterpart. Driver age is just one of many rating factors that affect your insurance premiums.

The best car insurance companies for Subaru WRX Premium owners

When it comes to insurance companies, there’s no consensus on what the “best” means, whether it refers to the cheapest auto insurance rates, the greatest customer service, or the smoothest claims experience. So, it’s no surprise that there’s no single best auto insurance company for everyone who drives a Subaru WRX Premium.
However, Jerry can tell you which of the nation’s
top car insurance companies
earned the best scores for policy costs, customer service, claims handling, and overall experience. Our nationwide insurance shopping survey asked thousands of verified policyholders to rate their providers, including big names like GEICO, Farmers, State Farm, and more.
One last note: remember that auto insurance quotes are so individual that you won’t necessarily get the same rate from the same company as your friend, even if they also own a WRX Premium. It all depends on your age, driving history, and more.
Without further ado, here are the top-scoring auto insurance providers of Jerry’s survey:

How'd we get these scores?

Jerry's experts conducted one of the largest car insurance surveys in the United States. We surveyed 15,000 policyholders, in all 50 states, over the span of 18 months. These policyholders hold insurance policies with 87 different insurance companies. We surveyed policyholders to gauge their satisfaction with their insurance carriers in: policy cost, customer service, buying and renewal experience, as well as claim experience. These scores were all reported by real customers of the insurance companies.

How much does Subaru WRX Premium insurance cost?

In Jerry’s experience, Subaru WRX insurance costs an average of $96 per month or $1,152 per year for minimum liability insurance coverage in the US. If they opt for a full coverage policy, their average insurance costs rise to $219 per month or $2,628 per year.

How much car insurance do you need for a Subaru WRX Premium?

Choosing the
state minimum coverage insurance
gives you only the coverage you need to legally drive, nothing more. It’s generally limited to liability insurance, which pays for your driving mistakes, whether they include bodily injuries or property damages.
If you upgrade to
full coverage car insurance
(as most insurance agents recommend), you get the peace of mind of knowing that most repairs and replacements to your vehicle are covered. The included comprehensive and collision coverage pays for everything from impacts with other cars to freak weather events.

How do Subaru WRX Premium insurance quotes compare to other Subaru WRX car insurance rates?

Despite its name, the Premium trim isn’t the highest rung on the ladder. You’ll pay less to insure it than other trims—like the Limited, TR, or GT—but more than the base model.
Here’s the average cost of auto insurance for some other popular Subaru WRX trims:

Subaru WRX Premium insurance cost by model year

Depending on your car’s model year—the year it was manufactured, in other words—your Subaru WRX Premium insurance costs may be hundreds of dollars higher or lower than the average.
If you have a new car, they’ll be higher. Newer models have a higher cash value and more expensive technology.
If you have an old car, you’ll save money. Older models simply cost less to replace.

Methodology

The Insurance Research Team analyzes insurance products and services to drive insights and help consumers make informed purchase decisions.
Insurance research: We analyzed over 25 million car insurance quotes; conducted the largest insurance shopping survey (over 15,000 customers surveyed and 85 carriers reviewed in the past 18 months).
We surveyed insurance policyholders for their experience with their insurers in the following areas: (1) insurance cost (2) customer service (3) insurance buying experience (4) insurance renewal experience (5) claim experience. In addition, we asked people what they like about their insurers and what areas in which their insurers could improve. The driver characteristics used in calculating average rates for auto insurance include: single driver, single car, currently insured, clean driving record.
